I would definitely prefer seeing LVG stay rather than Mourinho coming in at this stage, as that would mean we've endured the last three years for nothing.
Mourinho would come in with his ideas, scrap everything done before, and start fresh.. There won't be any continuity, he'll spend an enormous amount of money, and who knows if anything will come of it. Nothing is certain in the EPL anymore, even with Mourinho heading the team.
LVG has made some serious mistakes over the last two seasons. But still many see progress.
LVG's Mistakes: - Selling Di Maria: that ugly idiot should have been fined and banned to the 2nd team, and should have stayed there for months until he gave up and decided he wants to stay and work it out with LVG. He should never have been sold, and especially not at a loss. - Selling Hernandez - Our squad was too small for a team that's challenging in 4 competitions. The worst happened, 14+ players got injured, and we got screwed big time. Ashley Young as striker, seriously? - Some bad in game decisions: Anyone remember Varela against liverpool? We've given games away in the last minutes against newcastle, chelsea, west ham, etc..
The Positives: - FA Cup , hopefully. - Obviously the development of young players like Rashford, Lingard, Fosu-Mensah, Borthwick-Jackson - Development of Rooney in midfield, Blind in defense, Smalling as one of the best in the EPL - the purchase of Martial
All in all I think LVG needs some quick, direct players up front . A quick right winger (Feghouli, Mane, Leroy Sane) and lethal striker (Lukaku, Morata, Greizmann). He also needs to replace Carrick. If we manage to get 3 world class players in the mentioned positions, I think our squad can definitely challenge for the EPL, FA cup, and EL next season.
It's up to Glazer-Woodward to make sure he maintains continuity if they employ him. There's no way they'll re-budget for him, he'll be given the cash to finish off what LvG started though.
Di Maria didn't want to be here anyway, and as soon as he was burgled that was it. No point keeping him around being the stinking fart in a space suit infecting the others, better he fucked off immediately
It's not the end of the world if VG stays, no. But I'd take a controlled and focused Mourinho over him at this point.
Be surprised if they do. It's something you'd normally leave till Monday morning 9 / 10 am sharp. Let everybody digest the weekend's exploits and whatnot.
At the end of the day what difference does it make? At least if we lose (not that I think we will) it will go a long way to compensate it Been waiting 2 fecking years for this news. I'll be glued to the Internet all night. There'll be no dull moments with Mou around, that's for sure and as Jorge Mendes has some fantastic players on his books it will certainly make things easier instead of relying on that other dickweed Woody.
