Aye, thought it was funny Akinfeev going batshit crazy at his defenders when he seemed to pull his hands away

Not to fussed, Moscow was always going to be difficult to go to
Martial, wow I shudder to think what we would do without him

I think I'm in the minority of 1 but I don't think we played too bad. Just a short while ago for all our possession we couldn't get near the oppositions box. It was slow and it could of been compared to having a tooth pulled. It's true we still found it difficult to get the ball into the box but I thought our play had more purpose to it, mixing it up with Schneiderlin playing some great long balls, Lingard appearing all over the place and our play at times did look snappier. It was hard to go full out attack because CSKA are a great counter attacking side and I was happy with a point. I thought Lingard did fantastic but for me we missed Mata. He's the one who can thread a ball through the eye of a needle which is where we failed last night. We found it hard to penetrate their back line. Herrera just doesn't look the same when Mata doesn't play which was pretty obvious from his performance. Basti had a stinker by his high standards. Rooney just didn't bring anything different to the game, Martial found it difficult because he sometimes had 3 CSKA players around him. What I can't understand is let's face it, Fellaini is pretty shit but we seem to play better with him in the side. Go figure.

I think Fellaini is a player you'd rather have in your squad than not just because he offers completely different options, you can use him a few ways. Best way to describe him is the really weird shaped piece in a jigsaw puzzle that doesn't look like it fits anywhere till you see it right at the last and go; AAhhhh!! .....Arrrrrgh!!!
Really well organised and disciplined side Moscow, quick on the counter too. It's easy for Scholes and Rio to sit in a studio saying we didn't bother making a game of it and lacked creativity when it's minus twelvety four in a Russian deep freeze. Even VG moaned about that after, but it gets difficult when you play hand ball after 15 minutes, go a goal down, and everything gets disrupted.
I thought it was a great result, mediocre first half performance with a couple of exceptions, Lingard did himself no harm at all.

Boring as fuck I'd say, it's not a bad result but I seriously hope we don't see another display like that. Cold, jet lag and all is no excuse.
