Don't know if he's carrying an injury or now that he's won his PL medal he's lost motivation but a shadow of his former self.

Robin van Persie admits the departure of Sir Alex Fergsuon as manager of Manchester United had a profound effect on his form. The 31-year-old striker admitted one of the main reasons behind his decision to quit Arsenal for the North West was to work with the legendary manager. "We were once 18 points clear of City but we lost at home 2-1. We were still 15 points ahead but he was furious. Then I realised: he's a winner. Van Persie, who signed for the Old Trafford club for a fee of £22.5million in 2012, was a Premier League winner in his first season scoring an impressive 35 goals in 53 appearances. "My decision to come to Manchester was partly because of the presence of Ferguson, or excuse me, Sir Alex," Van Persie said. "And he told me he’d stay for another three years. I enjoyed his approach. The Dutch ace has struggled to replicate the form he managed under Ferguson but remains positive that he can turn things around, despite the club making their worst start to a Premier League season ever. "Three goals in nine games is not enough," he said. "Against Chelsea I had a nice chance and I had three options: chip it, go round the keeper or just [shoot] straight at the goal. I chose the last and safest. If I wouldn't have thought it over I would just chip it. I just have to trust again in my intuition." www1.skysports.com/football/news/11667/9555308/premier-league-robin-van-persie-deflated-by-sir-alex-fergsuon-departure-as-manchester-united-boss

So, according to his majesty, he lost the trust in his intuition. In other words, started to think too much for his own good.
I wonder if our medical staff have some brainwashing injection for him... and a huge dose of adrenalin.

No disrespect to Robin, but the way he's playing right now he shouldn't really be starting for United.

Robin van Persie must step up his displays for Manchester United after his 'very bad' Arsenal game, demands Louis van Gaal Louis van Gaal has demanded more from forward Robin van Persie United striker had 'very bad game' against Arsenal, according to Van Gaal His place is under threat from 18-year-old striker James Wilson Radamel Falcao and Marcos Rojo could return from injury against Hull Louis van Gaal has demanded more from Robin van Persie after telling the misfiring Manchester United striker that he had ‘a very bad game’ against Arsenal last weekend. Van Persie was replaced at the Emirates for the fourth time this season having had only 13 touches of the ball. With Radamel Falcao set to return to the squad against Hull City on Saturday and young James Wilson on standby for a start, the Dutchman’s place is under threat. ‘You can count his touches of the ball and I do think that 13 is (too) few,’ said the United manager.
‘More importantly is how he’s playing. It was a very bad game from him and that is why I changed him. ‘When I change players it is normally because they are doing something not good. Every player has to fight for his position.’ Van Persie has struggled for form since firing United to the title in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season, scoring 26 Premier League goals following a £24million move from Arsenal. The 31-year-old’s form dipped under David Moyes last season and hopes that he would be rejuvenated by the arrival of his old Holland coach have faded after a modest return of three goals in 11 games. There are concerns that Van Persie has lost a yard of pace but Van Gaal questioned whether a lack of confidence might also be to blame. He said: ‘It’s a question also of confidence, maybe a question of scoring a wonderful goal at the right moment. You know how strikers are, they have to score goals. They feel like that, it’s not that I’m asking that.’ Falcao is available for the first time in more than a month after recovering from a calf injury but the Colombian lacks match fitness and Van Gaal could turn to Wilson, who will be 19 on Monday. Wilson marked his senior debut by scoring twice against Hull in the corresponding fixture in May and it is understood that he has been told to expect to start on Saturday or against Stoke on Tuesday. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2853494/Robin-van-Persie-step-displays-Manchester-United-bad-Arsenal-game-demands-Louis-van-Gaal.html#ixzz3KRZQbA6U Fair dos to LVG - says it straight as usual - he and RVP go back a long way so if anyone can get the best out of our fallen hero it must be him As we have two matches in 4 days surely Wilson must be a starter in one of them - come on you Reds
