So the games are coming thick and fast now and next up is a tough looking away trip to Southampton but they haven't been great so far this season, so I'm expecting victory. I'm praying the manager wakes up and realises 4-3-3 is the way to go but I think that's unlikely so going with his 4-2-3-1 formation this is the team I'd be playing, injuries aside. Dave Valencia Smalling Blind Darmian Schnei Schwein Young Rooney Memphis Martial When we bought Darmian the manager commented on how he can play both full back positions. I'd sacrifice him being on the left to keep the central defensive pairing the same. I also like full backs to have pace which Blind doesn't have a great deal of, so yeah. Schneiderlin has to come back in for me and we're starting to see Schweinsteiger coming into his own, I know he's played a lot lately but he's got more than enough time to recover with the Sunday afternoon game. As for the attack I was very encouraged by 3 of the 4 vs PSV. Full of pace, power and direct attacking when they got into position. Mata was the odd one out and he's dropped to make way for Rooney as number 10.

Yeah I'd put Blind back where he was and shuffle the pack like that, but I think VG rates Rojo more, he might even stick Rojo on the left. I'd be happy seeing that side, Mata needs a 'rest' for being naughty. Glad the games are flowing gives little time for people to dwell.

That team would do me, might be Rojo and I wouldn't be against Carrick in either.
If that's the back four we stick with further in the season then Valencia at right back may benefit Mata, if we can get that trio with Herrera going again it would do some way to covering the attacking hole left by Shaw.

Missed the quick turn around in matches. The time between matches used to feel like ages last season. And like Jamie says no time to dwell on the lose mid week

It was Ed who said that but he stole the thought from my mind.

I think it's more important for the players more than anything, I noticed Blind coming out today saying Shaw's injury was a hammer blow and it subconsciously stuck with them.

Yeah I think it must make the side feel flat. It might not show but knowing your mate has just picked up a horrendous injury must be unsettling. Should use this as motivation now.

Fully in agreement that Smalling and Blind should remain the CB pair, no reason to change something that's working so well. Even better if he sticks Rojo on the left because he's not only quick but he can also bully people around Blind. Not thrilled by Young on the right side, but he'll do. (still expecting Mata to start there though)

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1
Southampton haven't really got going. They were unlucky at West Brom, but they are getting better. Man United keep winning, but I just don't see them doing it here. They lost at PSV, and Luke Shaw is a massive miss. I don't know what it is about United, they have some good players but it is just isn't clicking. Southampton brushed aside Norwich and improved against West Brom. They are getting players back and starting to get a bit of confidence. Southampton have to score first if they are going to get anything from this

Tough game but if we score early we could get a really good result. 4-0 to united. Like to see a midfield of morgan bastiab and ander. With young martial and memphis. Rooney for Martial if he is back for the game.

they better bloody win this after our mid week loss in the CL, in saying that this is never an easy away trip
with rooney back though leading the attack, he needs to get a goal, and we should seal this, our attack is too strong, United to win 2-1

Wouldn't like to predict, I think they will be well up for it. We need to see some balls and killer instinct tomorrow
