I never wanted Manchester United to be second to anybody. Only the best would be good enough

Yeah that's a good point Rach, Southampton were playing Thurs night so we should be a bit fresher. I think there should be a drive in the team also to win it for Shaw! And we should def have Morgan back in the team a bit of muscle is required

I'm feeling confident today as I always am. I maintain we've seen improvements over the last few performances, time to put together both a controlled, yet creative and clinical display.

I'd like to be but I just don't know what we'll get today, team sheet will be very interesting.

I think Martial will be back on the bench. Rooney up front with Young and Memphis wide. Mata drops out for Herrera to move further forward and Schneiderlin in midfield with Schweinsteiger. Hopefully the manager's realised since the PSV game that it's better to keep a consistent and in form central defensive pairing together and plays Rojo on the left instead of Blind.

Great line up, shame Shaw isn't there in that.

If you'd have said we'd win 3-2 after the opening half hour I'd have bitten your hand off. A very positive period of play at one point in the second half and we did pretty much dominate from 30 mins onward. The build up play to the 3rd goal where we didn't lose the ball for like 2 minutes is the sort of stuff you expect in an attacking sense from an LVG team, need to start putting together a full performance like that.
2nd, 2 points behind City and we've not even got going yet. Martial was superb throughout and Dave made some extraordinary saves. Also thought Basti showed again why he's such a class signing. The whole side seemed 5 times calmer when he came on the pitch.

I think you called that before. First half started woefully, improved towards the end and nicked the equaliser with a bit of good fortune as Mata was offside, class finish from Martial who looked dangerous every time he was on the ball. Second half Soton handed it on a plate really, cool as a cucumber finish from Martial again. Great build up for the third goal, we controlled that second half and were efficient, more like it in that period, killed it with the Mata goal. Then LVG starts moving around the back four, it's asking for trouble, I know he wants to give Paddy game time but the game needs to be well out of sight beforehand. Leave it be Louis! Great win nevertheless

That's how LVG teams attack. More of this please, lots of passes are fine as long as it comes with an end product.

I know he's young, but I really want to see him start most games. We've missed that lethal striker instinct
