Mata behind the striker then? Quite an attacking set up, have to agree there.

Looking forward to the game even more now after seeing that starting eleven. Looks more like us..all out attack.

No excuses at all tonight. We dominated, created and looked dangerous all night. The players in the final 3rd fucked up, simple as that. Mata the main culprit, he was fucking horrible. If I hear anybody talking about the manager's tactics and such for tonight's game I'm gonna hunt you down and.......hit you with a big stick.

Makes it very difficult already as well. A point would've eased the pressure but as it is the pressure is on hugely for us to win our 2nd game.
Very disappointing and deflating night with Shaw's injury as well.
I need a drink.

It was without a doubt our best all round display of the season as well. Even the defending was decent enough when you consider Shaw going off injured, we just got hit on the break, which can happen to anyone and was exactly what they were playing for.
Massively important we take all 3 points against Wolfsburg in 2 weeks time.

We lost the ball way too often tonight, and we got ourselves to blame for losing this one. Commentators here saying that Martial didn't justify his starting position, but I'd disagree - think he had some good runs, I think he got tired toward the end though because he disappeared as soon as Fellaini came on. One positive for me was Smalling - he was everywhere

Wasn't same old same old at all though. You've all been moaning about the lack of chances we create and how we attack. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that tonight, we attacked with verve and speed and created a hat full.

One positive was the understanding Memphis and Martial already seem to have built up. Some nice one-twos and such during the game. There's only 1 change to the attack I'd make vs Southampton. Mata out. I don't even care if Rooney's not back I'd sooner Fellaini start at number 10 than him.

Smash and grab for PSV, two poor goals conceded otherwise they weren't involved.
Started the first half then got knocked for six with Shaw, huge blow that for him. Went into the lead with a neatly worked goal, then concede a poor equaliser. Second half again started well, then concede a poor goal on the counter.
Mata should have buried that chance, it's safe to say Rooney will be nailing that no.10 spot. Other than that ponderous build up, no real urgency in the end gave way to a sloppy final ten minutes. Not good enough.

One mistake I'm going to throw at the manager is not starting Schneiderlin. We'd have had more chance combating those counters with a genuine ball winning, aggressive holding midfielder in there. Schweinsteiger and Herrera did well as a 2, controlled the game but without Schneiderlin we lack bite. I genuinely think he should be one of the first names on the team sheet every game.

Not a problem with the selection, Schneiderlin wouldn't really have altered the result.
The subs on the other hand, Young seemed to be doing ok and Herrera was certainly doing better than Mata. The decision making of the players is also worrying, why they are playing corners and free kicks short when you have a 6ft+ tree in the box.
Wilson is surely more of a threat, than stop and wait Valencia yet we are going to loan him out.
I thought we'd pick up this season but clearly a lot of work to be done still.
