Nothing should please more than proving him wrong, the scouse prick. Remember...."You won't win anything with kids" from another former liverpool defender anyone?

Agree with him on the wow signing.
Basti or Schneiderlin in the big games next to Matic would be an improvement on Ramires, Zouma or donkey Mikel.
I'm surprised by Chelsea, win the title and with the money they have I expected them to get a top player to take them to the next level. They've just stood still really might even say worse off so we'll see what happens , the title race is going to be much tighter this season and in the CL I still think they'll struggle to get past the top teams.

I think Yann M'Vila will be the signing of the summer this season. Not sure what happened to him but he was really good when he first started a couple of years ago. Surprised he signed for Sunderland and not the top 5-6. Also heard an unnamed EPL club is chasing free agent Yoann Gourcuff. Another talented player who lost his way.

Exactly he lost his way and is now shite, will fit right in at Sunderland.

Anyone else a little underwhelmed by the transfer activity this summer? Given the money from TV deals and such, the papers bigging it up so far there's not been much overseas talent joining the leagues top clubs apart from our new lads. Are the top talents just not available or not enough top talent around it's similar elsewhere in Europe as well there hasn't been many big moves either. I guess it's good for us in terms of the title race but I think English clubs could once again struggle to make an impact in the CL. The middle and lower clubs have been investing though, interested to see how the Ayew's and Clasie get on in particular. Stoke have done some good business as well. a bit by some, mind you Newcastle, Palace and Stoke have spent it up, some of the promoted teams have also done some solid business. some of the others have been hording money though.

No dave. Gourcuff lost his way. Not yann. Yann had some discipline issue. He's still very good. Saw a bit of him at inter last season. Very impressed.

Depay ain't replacing Di maria, no way, pretty sure that was just a signing for the future, whenever the hell the pedro deal is done, thats our di maria replacement (i just wish it would go through already, its bloody annoying) Schneiderlin is proven as a top mid in the premier league so that is a pretty safe bet Schweingsteiger has consistently been one of the best mids in the world, even at 30 and a bit more injury prone, he will provide for us something that only carrick could give us last season, leadership from central midfield. and just the ability to control games from midfield their is still 3 weeks of the window left, no way we go into the season without pedro, another striker and a CB, if thats the case then yes, we have messed up drastically and we are going to be coming 4th at best this season

You said it yourself, we've made safe and reasonable signings, for good prices too.

You said it yourself, we've made safe and reasonable signings, for good prices too. i'd say up until we had Di Maria, we had enough very good to world class players (Mata, Di Maria, De Gea and Rooney all being world class, Schneiderlin, Herrera being borderline) now with di maria gone and no adequate replacement, we probably aren't a team that is going to compete for the title, its like LVG said, we need 2 more signings, i think the club have already lined those two up, they're just taking their own sweet time announcing it. One of them is Pedro, about 99% sure at this stage about that. The other, i would think is a CB, but could be a striker. Maybe that's where we add that world class or near world class player

West Brom sign Rondon, Shaqiri having his medical at Stoke.

Stoke getting quite a lot of flair players. Hopefully they are not football mercenaries. Hughes definitely won't make the same mistake twice.

Shaqiri may be a mercenary, he really did not want to sign for Stoke, i bet you Inter forced that move through.
also Rondon to West Brom more or less confirms Berahino is leaving, and probably to Spurs (sadly, i want him as Rooney's backup and eventual successor but anyway)

Could Berahino to Spurs trigger a move out of there for Harry Kane?
