they don't necessarily need him. i would be looking for a bloody striker who is better than giroud first (lets be honest, you aren't winning a damn thing if your best striker is giroud)

fair to say that rooney,rvp, and in form falcao and even chicharito who is on loan atm are all better than giroud. he isn't bad but they aren't winning the premier league or champions league if he is their main striker. In saying that if they got Lacazette to compliment sanchez and giroud it would make them that much more dangerous going forward

Giroud is far superior to Hernandez and he's scored more goals than any of our strikers this season, with Rooney and RVP playing more games. Admittedly if Rooney had been playing as a striker all season he'd probably have totted up 15+ league goals so far but there are no such excuses for the other 2. Right now Giroud would be much more effective for us than RVP and Falcao.

You are right Jamie, he certainly offers Arsenal what we thought our strikers would, which is better movement and link up play. He has certainly improved this season although he tends to miss easy chances here and there. Oh well I am surprised that I haven't seen anyone here or many people on here who would take Alderweireld, for me alongside Schneiderlin and Clyne they are the players I would take. Alderweireld is playing like the type of defender LVG fancies, good and composed on the ball, fast, strong, great in the air and a very good defender. I hope we can try for him, he is certainly better than any of our defenders, has certainly improved Fonte's game.

he wouldn't be bad at all, but would prefer hummels or varene over him. if we were to fail to get either he would be a very good option

Morgan SchneiderlinNot a word about United. I really doubt that van Gaal will go for him, unless the recommendation comes from Giggs. Don't know why, just a strange feeling.

Maybe LvG doesn't think it's a shame, after all, he sees and knows some things much better than we do or maybe he has some different targets in mind that he knows much better about. |

We have just not as much as Arsenal and the. spuds with the Pochettino connection, if only he was Dutch.. the papers would be all over him then.
We may have other targets ahead of him like Pogba but Van Gaal watched our games against Soton and he was the best player on the pitch.
Here's hoping he took notice.
