New left back?

Well obviously people are rating players differently and I do agree that it's not a pressing need, what I'm saying is quite obvious and the reasons behind my beliefs.

About James, Blackett and the likes, I'd like them to get through and play one day for the first team and establish themselves as such but I don't believe in letting them in without a proper competition and also someone who'll they learn from, including Shaw (attacking aspect of his game). They are all still very young and have miles of room for learning and development and I don't see the rush to push them in the "claws of the beast" prematurely just like that. Right now, they are not ready and more likely than not both of them will be loaned out next season so, we'll have an injury suspect Shaw, Rojo who should be (and he is) a center back and Blind, who should be in the center of the pitch and settle there. Of course, he can fill in the spot whenever needed but the priority is center of the park.

Now, in this case, what would happen if two (or God forbid) all 3 are injured at the same time? We'll put Young there, assuming he won't be sold and I haven't been massively relaxed with him as a left back from what I saw. Anyway, he was a forced left back anyway when the squad was hit by injuries and van Gaal has played him in a different system than we're playing now, as a wing back.

Those are the reasons I believe we could do with someone like Coentrao and because I rate his skill set, his experience on a top level for the club(s) and country and because we'd just might need one more body in terms on quality, possible 50 games a season and CL opponents we'll face and their quality. He'd be a great option to have not just on that left back spot, he has proved himself in midfield too which is another plus. Played a right back as well but not so good as other positions.
