I think Shaw deserves more time .... we paid a lot for the youngster so we can't afford to offload him for a loss anyway
I agree that Rojo and Blackett can both cover this position if required. I think our Summer money should be spent elsewhere

One thing going for Shaw is that he's English and does not have to adapt to the premier league. He also knows the rivalry and history between clubs
in the English league - I know Giggs gives special briefings to the team newbies to explain who are Liverpool and Man City lol to explain the history
and rivalries.

It's OK to buy foreign players but they have to be weaned in (for at least one season) and some never make it ... we have seen a few examples come and go.

I'm buggered if I know what's the right balance between "home-grown" players and foreign imports - It's a bit like patchwork families it takes a while to click.
I think stability is part of the settling so only tweak it where you need to.

And let's face it - if we don't make top 4 who's going to come to Old Trafford ? and more importantly how do we then manage to keep DDG.

There's alot of talent there but it's turning it into quality players. So many have come and gone and I'm not on about Pogba. The likes of Tunnicliffe who I had down as a certainty to succeed here, Morrison who's a cunt and even the likes of Larnell Cole all had potential that at that age looked as if it could be turned into enough ability to be a first team premier league player.

Of the current crop there's a lot who have ability...Harrop, Tuanzebe, Rashford, Pearson and Gribbin are 5 off the top of my head who look like they have a good level of ability for that age but the likeliness is that none of them will have a career here.

He can play both well, but as a left-footed player I don't think he is going to shift Rojo from LCB for the time being.

Rojo is 24, how long should he be a sub for Rojo?

In my country we have an expression: од вишка глава не боли. Basically it means that you're very likely to have much bigger problems if you don't have enough quality to pick from than if you actually have that quality.

Lets be serious here and take off the red specs for a moment at least, we don't have enough quality in each position alone, the left back spot being one of them too. We have a bunch of inexperienced youngsters who may or may not become required quality and that simply is unacceptable.

One "proper" left back is not enough, in today's game particularly.

I was more pissed with Shaw to be honest when I created this thread because of another injury and God knows how much we need a constant and settled defense. Well, actually, every team does. I just don't trust in another options too much. We need Blind in the middle and Rojo at CB, not good shifting them around because the first choice struggles badly.

if he is good enough, he will overtake rojo, i don't think pandering him (like other prospects in the recent past) will do him any good, he needs to compete for a starting spot and show he is worthy  of it, if he plays well (which he has, minus the few brain lapses) then he'll definitely get his chance considering how shit we are in the back

 (and not like we can't have him play as a 3rd string lb) him playing backup left center back and 3rd string lb doesn't sound all that bad, it at least shows we have depth
