Do Manchester United have any interest in Aymeric Laporte or Nicolás Otamendi? (Jonny White)
GUILLEM SAYS: Valencia think that Manchester United will pay the £38.2m buy-out clause in the summer for Nicolás Otamendi. United have already offered £27m and Valencia think they’ll improve on that offer, so the club are preparing for it.

Does anyone think we could move for 2 CB ? (having Hummels and Otamendi in mind)
Personally I don't think we need 2 CB who're that expensive. Imo, Smalling and Rojo have both proven they can be relied on (and they're still young, don't forget that), while Evans and Jones are good back ups.
On Otamendi: I like him, but there is no way he is worth 38.2M. 25M would be a fair price for someone of his age/quality/position.

I'd be surprised to see two, don't see the need unless more than one leaves from Evans, Jones, Smalling.
The prices thrown around do seem excessive but to bring in someone of top quality we are going to be talking around 35m. Spending 60m ish on two though would be a fair chunk of dosh and unnecessary really.

And Hunter says that even if United come in with a £50million bid, the answer from Valencia is not as straightforward as it seems.
Unless the player force the transfer himself, it won't be needed 50, not even close.

I've quoted the line from the article you've posted, it says there is a possibility they wouldn't sell him not even for a 50m. I think Valencia can't ask that much, not even close considering his release clause and assuming the player wants out.

Isn't his release clause 50m euros? Think that's what Hunter was on about.
