Confirmed dialogue ongoing between #mufc and Torino over defender Matteo Darmian. A bit of old school off the radar United business, this. Ian Ladyman Its on

Seems to be a done deal by all accounts. Main attraction is the guys versatility and preference on the right - but also his height.

United website hasn't announced the Darmian signing just yet so I'm holding out.
Although I suspect it may be announced within the next 12 hours

Didn't you make a comment Yesterday along the lines of Darmian plays for Torino so how good could he be? Then the next day he's good enough to be our starting right back instead of Valencia because we're a Champions League team, suggesting you now think Darmian is Champions League quality, despite him only being good enough for Torino...Great logic. Anyway, I still think Valencia will start the season at right back for us, Darmian is versatile and bolsters the options within the squad and may eventually dislodge Valencia but it's no guarantee.

Darmian looks to be done, talented player, versatile, tall, good on the ball it will be interesting to see how he adapts to the league but I have high hopes. One problem position crossed off, CM, CB, ST, GK(?) to go.

I watched a couple youtube videos of him, seemed pretty quick and comfortable with going forward, but then again he was probably playing against a lower table team. Hate these videos, they don't give you much of a clue about a player. Same as Jamie - I don't think he'll take Valencia's place, at least not yet.
