If none of the top 6 didn't want to spend 70m euros on potentially one of the best midfielders in the world in Bruno then something is seriously wrong in the PL. A. Madrid pays north of 100m on a kid who's had one good season. Times are changing. We have to change with it. We have a net spend of about 65m this window. 15m for James and 50m for AWB. Lukaku cancelling out Maquire. 65feckin million for one of the biggest clubs in the world is a disgrace when we're trying to get back into the big time but I suppose the leeches have to pay off all their personal loans which doesn't leave much over for what really counts. Manchester United (Glazers personal bank) Football Club. We don't have a recognised striker. Ben Yedder who scores a shit load of goals was ours for 30m. SMS who's just as good as Pogba could of been had for 90m. WTF? What if Madrid offer the asking price for Pogba next week? I hope they do and we accept because that really would be the beginning of the end for the Glazers. What's the betting in Oles presser tomorrow he'll say we were looking at players (Bruno, Dybala, SMS) but we decided our youth have more potential than them. In other words we don't want to spend any money so we'll throw our youngsters in at the deep end and if they can swim look at us we're geniuss and if they can't he'll talk about the United way. Top 4?

A bit flummoxed to be honest. Are the Glazers planning to sell the club and therefore spending minimum funds ? We can but hope The window was a strange one but what positives can we take: Defense now seems top drawer All 3 signed players know that it rains in Manchester more importantly they want to be at the club and will slog their guts out for the shirt We do have some young gems that can be blooded at home and not loaned out surely that’s the biggest carrot they could ever dream of On the other hand: Midfield depth is a disgrace ..... an injury or two and we are well and truly stuffed. We already had a goal drought so now with Rom gone Tony and Marcus have to play beyond any known stats they have ever produced The gauntlet is down for them ....it’s men or mice time DDG needs to sign his contract and Pogba has to stay...... if they let him go after that window well it would be the final nail on the season It’s not down to Ole and it probably wasn’t down to Maureen either Ole has his hands tied, for the presser he can only say the right things happy with his squad, great pre season and promising youngsters etc etc He will do this with good grace ..... which Maureen could never do. Top 4 ......well an opening match and 6 pointer against Chelsea would be a good one to win. Unfortunately our final position is based on luck .... no injuries, youth performs, Rashers and Martial find their shooting boots and break records on all their previous campaigns and just maybe Alexis can prove that he is still a footballer. Thursday night football and how long we want to take that seriously may be the key for the league campaign. I’m thinking 5th .......... and zero business in January Don’t really know what it would take for the Glazers to ever see the beginning of the end .... happy as pigs in shit milking our club.

We are so far short in midfield for a full season it's quite mind bending.

The latest briefings from HQ:
Manchester United will turn their attention to appointing a technical director now their summer transfer window business is complete.
United's initial intention was to make an appointment before Jose Mourinho's successor as manager was confirmed.
But for this window, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer operated within the existing recruitment structure.
The club spent £140m on the signings of defenders Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka and winger Daniel James.
When Solskjaer was given the job on a permanent basis on 28 March, club insiders said the role would be filled by the start of the season.
Former players Darren Fletcher and Rio Ferdinand spoke to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward a number of weeks ago.
Although it is understood there has been no further face-to-face contact, Woodward has kept the pair in the loop over changes to the timescale for an appointment.
No offer has been made and it is thought the role would not involve negotiating with or signing transfer targets. Social media unrest
Not everyone thinks United have had a good transfer window.
In particular, many fans on social media feel United made an error in not attempting to sign midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.
It was also suggested their interest in Argentina forward Paulo Dybala was used as a smokescreen given they have been unable to sign an additional forward, as it had been obvious for some time that Romelu Lukaku would be leaving at some stage.
At one point on Thursday, #WoodwardOut - calling for the executive vice-chairman to leave his job - was trending in the UK with more than 50,000 tweets, second only to #DeadlineDay in terms of football-related tweets.
United have failed to mount a sustained Premier League title challenge in the six seasons since Woodward replaced former chief executive David Gill.
Fan @stevecapes94, who has just over 100 Twitter followers, said: "If you're in charge of the world's biggest football club and haven't come close to a league title in your six-year time in charge. You have to look at yourself and admit you can't do your job." This tweet has been liked more than 1,500 times.
The Glazers Out movement, which is trying to generate enough support to unseat United's owners, called the club's transfer window business "abysmal". United 'need time'
United regard their summer outlay as significant and believe, after last season's sixth-placed finish, 32 points behind champions Manchester City, it was always known it would take more than a single window to rectify their problems.
They also point to a number of new contracts - those for Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial which have already been done, and David de Gea's, which is due to be completed in the coming weeks - as proof of a rebuild.
In addition, they feel the performances of 17-year-old striker Mason Greenwood in particular during the club's pre-season tour of Australia and Asia offers hope for the future and underlines their continuing commitment to developing first-team players from their academy.

What a shit window on our front. We've signed three players and lost Herrera who we haven't replaced and now we no lukaku replacement unless they're absolutely sure that Rashford can start and get 15 odd goals this season as a starter.

Le 10 Sport: United made €90 million offer for Pepe but deal fell through - Arsenal have signed the Ivorian for €80 million (£72 million) from Lille. - United reportedly made a more lucrative offer. - However, they had to pull out as they didn't manage to sell Lukaku in time.
According to French media outlet Le 10 Sport, Arsenal newcomer Nicolas Pepe could have been a Manchester United player right now. The Red Devils were comfortably ahead of everyone else in the race for the 24-year-old due to their larger offer but had to give up on the deal. As United were unable to sell Romelu Lukaku to Inter fast enough, they didn't have the money to secure Pepe's signature. They were prepared to pay as much as €10 million more than Arsenal, meaning the fee would be in excess of €90 million.

Useless. we're barely above mid table this year cause Woodward and the Glazers are incompetent idiots. I hope their are a ton of protests this year that force the Glazers to sell and get Woodward to bugger off back to the corporate world.

tribuna.com/en/manutd/news/3436905/Didn't arsenil get him for 72m payable over 5 years? If I remember correctly they've only paid an initial 20m for him. If we couldn't keep lukaku and pay an initial 20m for Pepe then the club are lying through their teeth about money being available. Surprise surfuckingsurprise.

Everybody, including me, laughed at Ogden at the start of the window when he said the Glazers only had a 100m budget.

I mean, to be fair, getting rid of Fellaini was the best bit of business we did that season.
