Müller is the player I would bring in without hesitation if there is even a slight possibility that Bayern would sell (which I don't believe). I would take him before the Bale's and Di Maria's and all those high-profile players. At 40M, he is certain value for money. Best on-pitch attitude I have ever seen, with a deceptive and non elegant lethalness anywhere on the front line. So much underrated, yet so clever in his movements, so precise, so consistent. If there is that small chance Guardiola wants to get rid of him, LVG must get him by all means. No other signing would please me as much as that one. Depay and Müller would balance our frontline perfectly.

Carvajal would be fantastic, but I can't see it happening. It's just an IF, but remember: - Real have just bought Danilo for an expensive fee, which by Florentino Perez's politics means he will start all games when fit. - We're looking for a RB. - Real wants to sign De Gea... IF LVG is interested in Carvajal, then I could see it happen. But it's a long shot, I agree.

Muller is the most consistent forward I have seen outside of Messi and Ronaldo, plays anywhere across the front, smart, fast, strong, creative and great work rate, a winner as well. He is efficient as they come and as Matt said, he is such an underrated finisher and player, so unselfish. If he came I would genuinely start him ahead of Rooney upfront, he is what Rooney should be for us. I really hope it happens, Leno,Hummels, Gündogan, Depay, Muller and Carvajal. That would be a great summer for me and a well balanced team would be formed.

James plays that role now though doesn't he, I would be surprised to see them take him back, PSG seems more likely to me. isn't Rodriguez more of a Bale/Ronaldo type player (more attacking) rather than a more passing orientated Di Maria?

Carvajal would be fantastic, but I can't see it happening. they just got Danilo though. unless Carvajal is ok sitting on the bench i can't see why not (and real madrid would do that, they are like one of those people you will see on those tv shows about hoarders with thousands of packets everywhere just lying around)

Not sure I'd call Di Maria passing orientated, anyway from what I've seen of Madrid this season and from that what I can remember James has been in that midfield trio. He could play wide I guess should Bale move.

If he came I would genuinely start him ahead of Rooney upfront I think that with Müller in, we would have a frontline of Depay - Rooney - Müller, which I think is very well balanced, with pace, power, and footballing/positional intelligence. But I completely agree that, should Rooney be injured/out of form/banned/rested, then Müller would be a great player to have upfront. And that's also why I like him, because he offers the same productivity no matter where you play him. And he is only 25, entering the best years of his career.

Are we being linked with Muller? or is it just a pipe dream?

Danilo is a good player, but he's by no means a Galactico, and he's by no means the finished article. I think he's been signed to replace Arbeloa, not Carvajal. Carvajal is one of the best players in his position, and one of the few homegrown players of genuine quality that Real have, it would be senseless to sell him unless he asked to leave, which I think is unlikely because I don't think his first team minutes are going to be affected by Danillo.

Van Gaal said: ‘The team is more important than the individual. But when I think a player like Messi or Ronaldo or Bale can contribute in that philosophy, they are welcome to come. Louis dropping Bale's name in there

Why not Monty on Carvahal? There is surely gonna be a fire sale @ Real this summer and if they really want DDG as much as they say, we have the leverage to get any of their players

His home grown status and the fact Real probably don't want to sell him, mostly. His home grown status is more valuable to them than money, especially with Casillas and Arbeloa both probably leaving sooner rather than later. I don't think we have any leverage with DDG considering the length of his contract, I expect they would wait a year until DDG is free before giving up one of the best players to come out of their academy in over a decade.
