It's here again. Everyone's favourite time of the year. Another transfer window, which opens today  Who's going where? Will we sign anyone? Do we need anyone? (Of course we do) Doesn't just have to be United rumour transfers. Any premier league club will do. I'll start off by saying, according to the telegraph we're interested in a £70m move for Pogba :lol: also Diego Godins name keeps appearing. |

Obviously there's a few areas we could do with strengthening but I'd quite happily wait until the summer for those as I think we'll finish top 4, probably 3rd with the squad we have now. I do think we'll bring someone in though, don't ask me who.

I don't think we'll bring anyone, I'm fine with the team as it is now. I do think we might offload someone though.
The Januzaj loan deal sounds believable enough; Anderson too; not sure what we can do with Powell...

The only players we will bring in is any youngsters that we have kept an eye on and now there is huge interest from other teams

If there was 2 players in the world who we could sign who would it be?
Hummels is the obvious choice. Our CBs are an absolute shambles but maybe having a cool calm head like Hummels beside them would make them into better players.
Schneiderlin is a close second. Very underrated player who would be worth throwing whatever it takes to take him off Southamptons hands.

I don't think we need center backs at all. Our defense has not been as papers are making it out to be... sure, we've had a ton of injuries but we've been the third team with fewest goals conceded after City and Chelsea

Instead of saying VG is off his fucking tree, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he's been forced to play the way we've been playing because we're defensively frail.
I'd like to know our shots on goal average for the last 10 games. 2? 3? Absolutely abysmal considering the attacking talent we have.
I can only put that down to one thing. Instead of concentrating on our attack he's had to change players styles of play to compensate for our defensive weaknesses.
At the minute our most reliable CB is Smalling. Even though he's improved he's still a quite a way off being a top, top player. All the others look like it's their first game for United.
My own thoughts are if we had Hummels and Schneiderlin then we wouldn't have to concentrate all our energies in defending and our attacking players could concentrate on what they do best which is obviously attack.
If we did sign Hummels and Schneiderlin and played the same way then yes, I'd say VG is off his fucking tree.

I don't know how you can say that Jie.
LVG doesn't seem to trust any of our defenders, not even against Yeovil except perhaps Rojo, they've all been found wanting this season and the constant injuries is a huge issue. Until he signs the defenders he wants I think we'll be stuck with the three centre backs. We need a top quality centre back but it's looking like it'll have to wait till the summer to get a Hummels or Godin or someone of that ilk. Lots of rumours going round but nothing seems substantial.
Then a midfielder with a bit more muscle and bite would do nicely, which I still think will be Strootman probably in the summer as well but if we can get Schneiderlin in that would be great.

To be ruthless Dave, Carrick. He's been having a pretty good season, in fact one of our best players but let's face it, he isn't getting any younger.
With the attacking players we have and the style we should be playing we need players who can move the ball at pace between defence and attack. Give Carrick time on the ball and he will destroy you but pressure him and he's not the same player.
Schnelderlin for me ticks all the boxes. Strong in the air, can play at pace, strong tackler, great passer, good at intercepting, has a good engine on him and has the potential to become a fantastic if not world class player.
For me it's a no brainer. If he becomes available throw everything, including the kitchen sink at Southampton to sign him.

Wouldn't be first on my list. I'm still not convinced that Van Gaal wants to have 3 at the back but even if that's his plan we have Rojo, Smalling, Evans, Jones, McNair and Blackett and we haven't had the chance to see a steady trio yet due to injuries.
The last few weeks have made me realize how much someone like Fellaini is needed in the team - box to box, breaking up opponents play, very physical.
Having said that, I wouldn't say no to Hummels, but I don't think we'll do any business this window

Fellaini is a very poor mans Schneiderlin, Ford or Ferrari. High street store or Armani. McDonalds or the Ivy. Speed or coke. Yeovil or Manchester United. Motorola or IPhone. Boarding house or 6 star hotel. I could go on but I think you get my drift.  |

I agree with Hammy on the signings but instead of Hummels I would go for God in, he is a warrior and a leader at the back and he can teach some of this players how to defend. I feel he is an underrated player and he would absolutely improve our defence a lot quicker than Hummels would but I would not say no to him as well. Schneiderlin is a good shout, I am always impressed when I see him play and he makes Southampton a better team when HW is playing He would improve our midfield and wouldn't be bullied by many players, and another Southampton player I love watching is Aldeweireld he is calm, got a good pass on him and he is their best defender. if we sell two defenders then maybe get him and Hummels or Godin.
