He was passed his BBE when he left, still great going forward as his natural instinct probably brought him back to his pre-UTD days as a winger at Monaco, but he was seriously struggling to get back afterwards if the attack broke down in his latter years here. How many times was he seen to be taking the diagonal shortcut from the halfway line to his corner of the box with his hands behind his back instead of chasing back down the line to prevent crosses? or sometimes even getting out close then afterwards to close down a cross? Not his fault and was terrific in his day at the job that SAF moulded him into, but his legs were gone for the PL. The Serie A is played at a slower pace and will suit him in his twilight years.
Hope he does well, because his good years with us cannot be knocked.

Pat' could have been mistaken for a winger during his time at United so inevitably that would always catch up with him
He was doing the job of a left back and a winger here at times because lets face it there wasn't an awful lot going for us on either flanks. Whoever started further forward always had the fans being in hope rather the expectation of delivering an effective performance. Players like Young Nani Obertan Valencia or whoever else the manager rotated on the wings.
Literally was impossible to predict what we were going to get from any of those.
Just a natural instinct, but Evra certainly didn't hold back going forward which was probably to the detriment of our defence but he was left with little choice.
