Ecstatic after that result. Again we rode our luck at times but at the end of the day, De Gea is there to make saves, which he did and our forwards are there to score goals, which they did. Liverpool not scoring had nothing to do with luck, it was more to do with how shit they were when given the opportunities as well as a couple of quality stops from Dave. They were also woeful in defence.
RVP really looks back to his best, his all round performance was brilliant, De Gea obviously great again, Carrick was our best defender. Again I thought the 2 wing backs did well despite occupying roles unfamiliar to them. Herrera was good when he came on and despite being poor in the first half Fellaini and Mata improved in the second.
But above all we beat the Scousers 3-0! Happy fucking days!

One negative, I do wish he'd pack this 3-5-2 in, yes we've won 3-0 but I think the defensive frailties that are still evident with the amount of easy chances we've conceded would be half solved with switching to a back 4.
I think he's going with 3/5 at the back due to defensive injuries, so hopefully when the fullbacks are back fit he'll go with 4 at the back but he's so stubborn that I see him sticking with this 3-5-2, for the timebeing at least.

What a result for us, I couldn't be more happy, this should give as a nice boost going into the busy Christmas period.
I thought the first half left a lot to be desired, despite us going in 2-0 at the break. For me the problems stemmed from Fellaini and the CB's, Liverpools chances invariably came directly from a mistake of those aforementioned, where they were too casual in passing and too much time spent on the ball. Because of this, we found it difficult to keep possession for long periods of time, therefore, not providing much service for our forwards. I was very frustrated with Fellaini in the first half, gave the ball away with every other touch, reckless tackles and not offering much going forward, the only thing he was positively doing, was acting as a target man for long balls from defence, which in my opinion did not warrant him being on the pitch.
Thankfully, LVG didn't do as I would have and kept him on, he actually improved a lot in the second half and made a decent contribution. Having said that, when you see Herrera come, and see his level of passing, movement and link up play, you realise that Fellaini leaves a lot to be desired in comparison, I hope Herrera gets a start against villa, he always performs well for me.
Our wingers/wing backs/full backs are certainly doing their best in creating selection headaches for LVG, they have far surpassed my expectations as replacements, and are both really growing into the role, our of the two, young is obviously the biggest surprise. It will be interesting to see what happens upon the return of Rafael and Shaw.
Our forwards did a lot with very little in the first half, apart from the 2 goals I cannot remember anything positive or negative to say. Maybe you could be critical of Mata for not coming deeper to try link up play, which we were obviously lacking, but playing deep isn't his game. Wilson was very quite, not much of his fault. He didn't do anything wrong, but he made very few positive contributions, but again, service to him was dire, so he can't be fully to blame. RVP is growing more in confidence which is great, it's in time really, if you take away his goals and assists he is also working hard for the team, holding the ball, pressing high up and linking play, I think he's finally turned a corner.

De Gea's saves keeping Balotelli and the rest of Liverpool's chances at 0. Just perfect. That's my christmas pressie sorted.
