Omg we seriously lack pace when Di Maria doesn't play, I would like to see Wilson in place of Mata and Rooney playing as No.10
Edit: What about Falcao? Is he fit enough to play 90 mins?

LVG just said only 4 players are injured now, Di Maria, Shaw, Smalling and Blind. Disappointing to hear Di Maria won't be back for this game as it would have made me super confident of victory, I'm still confident but not as confident as I would have been. I'd be going with: De Gea Valencia Evans Rojo Young Carrick Herrera Mata Januzaj Rooney RVP The lack of pace in the side was clear for everyone to see against Southampton so for me, Januzaj is a must to start in this game with Di Maria out.
I am almost certain we won't see this side though, fully expecting Fellaini to play again. Probably as part of a midfield 2 with Herrera, Carrick forming a back 3 with the other 2 with Mata playing off the front 2. Hope I'm wrong though.

Last time he wasn't fit, but Louie said that our injury situation is improving, so who knows. I think that we should win this even without di Maria looking at their form and performances but it's also fair to say that we're hot and cold at the moment. Another thing, these feckers always raise their game against us, it's like some unwritten rule or something.

If di Maria is out, I'd go with this: de Gea
Valencia Evans Rojo Young
Carrick
Herrera Mata
Rooney
Falcao RvP Rooney and Mata would interchange frequently. Go full throttle at them from the first whistle, try to score as much as we can early on and then we could transform into something more cohesively defensive. Also, Falcao needs minutes as we want something good in return for that massive paycheck he gets every week.

Nope, I'm not buying it that Di Maria is still injured, not until I see the starting XI. But it's disappointing, I was really hoping he'd be fit for Liverpool and just run circles around Gerrard. I'm hoping for a back four (for my own peace of mind) but I'm thinking Van Gaal would go with a 3-5-2 again

DDG and Mignolet have same amount of clean sheets this season  Proves that stats can be misleading at times

It's like having an extra man in attack and if you're not ready for it, you'll get punished. As for the system, Basel has played something similar and they did quite well, or better said, Liverpool was clueless against their setup and approach for 80 minutes, but then again, we're not Basel, I dare to say that we have far more quality right now plus we're playing at home so back five shouldn't be the way to go, especially in this moment in time when they are out for taking.

I don't really think it would make a lot of difference if tía Maria plays por not. VG stubbornly refuses to play him in his best position and continually plays him out wide or stuck so far up top he can't influence games. So maybe it's not as big a loss as people thing. If VG starts with a 3-5-2 tomorrow i will really question his sanity.

United XI: De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Evans, Young, Carrick, Fellaini, Mata, Rooney, van Persie, Wilson.
Jones is back good news, can't say I'm surprised by that line up with Wilson bringing the pace. For some reason Louis doesn't seem to fancy Herrera.

We don't really have another option... Falcao is only fit enough for 20 minutes and Rooney isn't a striker in LVGs system. That leaves Wilson.

Fantastic to see Wilson in the line up. And Jonesy too. Liverpool line up: Jones, Lovren, Skrtel, Moreno, G.Johnson, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson, Sterling, Lallana, Coutinho. They don't even have a legitimate striker, and are playing with their second keeper. This is gonna be awesome
