Great from Ole and fantastic for the youngsters, gutted I’ll miss it but hopefully can catch it later. Go out there and enjoy it, I’m sure they’ll do us proud

Watched the highlights so far, nice strike from Jesse, deflection and an og is unfortunate and we seemed a little unlucky, Chong missed a sitter and some good saves from their keeper. Disappointing we couldn’t get the result but great experience for the youngsters.
Just need a draw at home to top the group.
Who impressed for you Ed?

I'd have to go for Levitt then Garner / Laird. Gomes has the quality and should be let loose more and Chong just looks average yet. But let's face it they all need a loan out. First half was no problem and if Chong bags that sitter we're winning the game.
Second half-itus struck again though, I know they came into it more and upped the tempo but I was still a little disappointed seeing that, probably residue from the first team continually doing it.
Overall good experience for them.

Great, now we're losing europa league matches against teams from Kazahkstan. I know its the kids but honestly if they want a future here they should be at least able to beat them cause its not like we're worse than them talent wise. We got outcoached i think.

It's our under 23s playing the equivalent of an EFL league 2 side, or top of the National League. Astana wouldn't be as physical and rough around the edges but better footballers. It's still men against boys.
Ask yourself this; would our u23s playing away at say, a Crewe, or a Barrow, in minus 20 degrees on a Thursday night, win? No - would they fuck. Why? as above, experienced men playing against inexperienced boys trying to make the step up.
All those kids should be out on loan in the championship next season getting real game time in mens football. If we actually had a proper first team squad, most, if not all, would already be out on loan.
