Time to put a performance down and show what we’re made of but it’s Chelsea who always raise them game against us. Neither side are pulling up any trees at the moment, probably be a tight and cagey match that neither will want to lose but I hope not. I’m torn on the side, think in the big matches we’ve lacked control this season particularly in midfield so Mata possibly an option but then again that front three was pretty ineffective midweek... De Gea Valencia - Bailly - Smalling - Shaw Matic McT - Pogba Rashford - Lukaku - Sanchez

Home game so we should have a little advantage and with the Liverpool result the lads will no what a crunch game this is. Chelsea like United have been up and down in form so for both sides it is a case of which squad takes the match by the scruff of the neck and who wants it more.

I got it dead right in the prediction game. Pogba did not impress and Sanchez looked off too. But well we are back in second spot.

Huge win. First half was poor, we were just so passive on and off the ball, hardly put a foot in plus sloppy and slow in possession. Poor goal to concede, Pogba failing to challenge for the header and McTominay losing his man. Second half was much improved, Matic and McT were fantastic, more aggressive and pressurised Chelsea into making mistakes and losing the ball. We were better in possession as well and managed to build attacks pushing for the second goal. Lukaku was brilliant, stuck it to his doubters with a fine finish and his assist was sweet as you like, his confidence will be sky high now. Not at our best but showed great character and bagged an important three points

Jose mentioned what went wrong in the first half and the players struggling adapting to that new (old 70s Brazil style) formation. Clicked in the second though and it paid dividends.
McT has me very curious about which way he's gonna go too.

McT has me very curious about which way he's gonna go too. In terms of? Mourinho absolutely loves him, I can’t recall him being so glowing about a young player even Rashford. Started and played the full 90 back to back in two huge games again I can’t recall Jose playing an inexperienced 21 year old in such a game, one of those ahead of his own signing and a 90m player which speaks volumes. We’ll sign a midfielder or two in the summer but McT has a bright future regardless.

McNair et al, etc. Bit early to get a full read on him as opposed to someone like Marcus
