Hi Edwood, are you from Cornwall in England because we have a clock from there where the hour numbers go 8ish 9ish 10ish ........ etc. The 442 was 4 Passes forward, 4 Passes sideways and 2 Late the defence is packed. Slip Sliding Away is by Simon & Garfunkel - and we now have Garfunkel chance of catching City..... (violin)

City have signed 10 more players in the same time period - that's what our board should have done by now, it's almost five years since Fergie retired, they knew after Moyes the task at hand and we needed an entire new squad and completely restructuring from top to bottom. Is the bottom line.
I'm sure after this Summer window we will close the gap behind City (provided they don't sign Neymar/Messi/Ronny, etc) but they have been streaks ahead of us at board level and the team was already in front of us last season. Nothing he's said is technically wrong on that level.
However, he makes no mention of our own team performances that he's responsible for, particularly against the top 6 sides. He should be squeezing the pips out of what he has and he's not doing that because of the way he sets them up. That's on him.

Went to the match and felt that first half was worrying reminded me of moments under Moyes/LVG the players didn’t look motivated. We’ve looked that way since the City defeat, players heads have dropped and they’ve been half arsing it, it’s not good enough and Mourinho has to motivate them. He should be using the whole changing room debacle to get them going but instead he’s whinging.
First half he got it all wrong, wrong team, our sloppiness at set pieces really needs sorting that’s certainly not something you’d associate with Jose. Rojo was utter cack but to be fair he pulled him at half time and brought on Lingard. The second half was better and we fought back thanks to Jesse, two cracking goals.
Mourinho needs to halt this slide, we still have everything to fight for.

He should be squeezing the pips out of what he has and he's not doing that because of the way he sets them up. That's on him. We do need to spend more and are a couple of windows behind City. That said that he says we aren’t a ‘big football team’ isn’t that is a bit worrying given he’s signed 3/4 of it and harped on about responsibilities at United that other clubs don’t have, he was brought in to handle that and produce the goods. He asked for 8 players over the three windows and got 7 of them spending over 300m, most of which are first team players yet we are still lacking in performance, still incredibly inconsistent and incohesive with no definitive style. All that he hasn’t got is fullbacks and wingers which we will give him but our stand ins there aren’t particularly shabby, he simply isn’t utilising them well enough. The gulf between us and City right now isn’t to do with deadwood as people suggest, they have their fair share of that, it’s between the first team and the coaching/management all of which is Mourinho. Drafting in a couple of players that are out of favour or not quite the required level of quality once in a while shouldn’t cause the team to collapse, park the bus and/or play hoof ball or whatever. You just have to hope Mourinho gets the experienced attackers in the next two windows and we become a more efficient version of our current selves, maybe then we’ll have a good chance at the league but I’m not sure he’s up for the fight to be honest.

I think Fergie summed it up the other day when Yorkie asked him if he'd change style or tack, he said, no. I don't think he gives a fuck about digging the board out either, I approve but that will cost him.
