Me too, it doesn't provoke the same emotion as watching United but I still take interest. I tend to laugh when England concede though rather than be angry.

Happy for Berahino and Clyne, they definitely deserve the call up.

Definitely, Downing's probably deserving of it as well with the way he's begun the season.
Surprised to see Carrick back in.

Ward-Prowse is English isn't he? I've always liked him... guess he's not quite good enough to get a call up yet.

I think Carrick gets it simply because of a dearth of experienced midfielders. I'm more surprised by Walcott's inclusion - he's barely played since coming back from injury, and it's not like we're short in numbers on the wing. I'm a bit baffled by Lambert, as well.

I'm also a bit surprised to see three specialist left backs in the squad.

Don't know how Lambert gets in but I guess that's just a sign of the lack of English striking talent. Other than that there's no real surprises.

Neville has made England much better defensively and harder to attack against according to Gary Cahill. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30016137Would really like to see Nev try his hand at management as I think he'd turn out to be a quality one, seems to comfortable in his cushy media work right now though and who can blame him!?
