I think Anderson was a combination of mental weakness and overall carefree laziness... a supreme talent that never really cared or wanted to excel to the heights his talents could take him. He was just comfortable with the status quo. A prime example of unfulfilled potential.

Louis van Gaal confirmed Anderson is close to being available again after injury. "He is now coming back," said the boss. "He is training with the team. I cannot say what has happened last year or the years before that but, in the past four months, he has had a lot of injuries so I cannot judge him. When he trains, he trains at a good level, but he is not always fit and that is more his problem."
Interesting stuff, I just assumed he was massively out of favour rather than injured. Either that or van Gaal is just batting a question away, nobody would question a false injury story at United.
