3 points in the bag  Another match we drew last season but have won this, not a great performance from us but a brilliant result. Defensively switched on right the way through the match, we looked dangerous first half but our second half showing was really poor though we still had the chances to add to our lead. Saints huffed and puffed but couldn't blow us down. |

This was a "Good" but "Bad" win.
I'm relieved that we did win this game but in reality it was not deserved. Southampton in the second half were the much better side. They deserved at least a draw.
If we play like this against Man City and co, we will be screwed.
Nevertheless, a win is a win. Many games last season were drawn although we were the better side and deserved to win.
I hope that the boys get their act together and avoid such terrible performances in the future.

Shit referee didn't help this one at all. Pleasing 'cause we would have lost this past few seasons, definitely the stuff titles are made from.

Never easy against Southampton who will be feeling a tad unlucky not to have forced at least a draw. Still this is soccer and sometimes you have to grind out a result and with a little luck on your side that is what United did. The lads will probably get a rollicking from Mo but all in all we are much better than last season.
