Finally, first competitive game of the season! Fuck all Macedonians and everyone that got one of those €15 tickets, I didn't want to go anyway. These few things aside, can't wait for tonight, I think we're in with a good shot. Seeing as Mourinho has preferred 3 at the back lately I'm going with : De Gea Smalling Lindelof Blind Valencia Herrera Matic Pogba Darmian Lukaku Rashford Put in Martial at some point and maybe Mkhitaryan, outsmart them tactically and bring the trophy home

Mourinho and his cowardice cost us first half, improved in the second with the additions of Rashford and Fellaini who caused Madrid problems. Madrid are the best team in the world and a class above so no shame in losing to them and the score line wasn't embarrassing. We gave it a go but we're a long way off that level. Matic was very good and looks to be a great signing, Lukaku did ok given the service and he'll get us goals this season as for Lindelof well I'm not sure what Mourinho see's in him, he looks so timid at the minute so a lot of work to do there. We look pretty sharp going into the season, the PL will show us whether we've improved or not

Yeah, baby steps, West Ham and onward.
That Madrid side have been together a long time and are bulging with confidence and know-how. We're basically starting from scratch. They all now know, if they didn't before, what the bench mark looks like.

expected. We weren't bad but its what you expected when you have a 3rd/4th placed side in england going up against a top 3 team in the world.
Mou needs to stop being a portugese tony pulis though. Show some balls and stop being so conservative and take the game too them.

Mourinho had sympathy for his new hitman after a night dominated by Real Madrid.
“It is difficult job to play against a team that dominates the possession - and he tried,” said the Reds boss.
Then ffs stop opponents from having the ball 60-70%. Don't get why we always only sit back and defend. Worse than LVG at times...
You won't win anything without pressing these days.
Can be more than happy with 3rd in the league this season unless Mourinho changes his tatctics, which won't happen in a million years.

Love that picture! Not much to say about the game, seemed like the guys are up for it and we started off well, but we were not looking as compact as I would have liked. Lacked sharpness as well. Overall Real deserved to win but we could have put a better fight. A good test for us.
