I don't really follow our academies beyond the u23's which haven't had a great season but from what I've read and heard we seem to be trying to improve our academy. trainingground.guru/articles/man-utd-scouts-summoned-for-meeting-after-huge-overhaulwww.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-sh/longform_manchester_cold_warThis is an interesting article on the subject as well, as Howson says in your typical MEN shite they make a lot of the thrashing etc. but at that level it's all about the development of the players. Obviously City are trying to instill a winning mentality but what's the point if they never go through to the first team, we saw this with Chelsea, stockpiling youth from all ages and winning all the cups, 10 years on and they still haven't had a regular first teamer. Perhaps City will be different but they've been at it for five or so years themselves and we're still waiting, they have some very talented players in their u23's but would rather sign the likes of Sane, Jesus, Zinchenko etc. not to mention the experienced first teamers they sign. City appeal to the parents, they want the best for their kids with the education and facilities offered, plus you hear all sorts of stories about bribes etc. recently read Liverpool have been transfer banned for 'tapping up' but the blues are just too slick and get away with it. I'll maintain with United things seem to be improving and we've always got that route to the first team, just could do with some wiser parents to steer their kids in the right direction
