Conte's got the Chelsea side that finished 10th last season. Big difference IMO. Tweaked it and turned it around, that's like saying van Gaal should have came in after Moyes and done the same because it was more or less Fergie's title winning side along with a few additions.

Mourinho 9 points off 4th and 13 points off the leaders is where we should be at?
Conte would turn Chelsea around with a tweak and a fresh face? Lvg would have won the league this season with the plans he had?
Whatever you're smoking I want some. either that or throw out a few predictions from that crystal ball. Could do with winning a few quid before the christmas.

Conte has got the Mourinho side that won the league and then refused to play for him the next (whatever the break down there we still don't know). No massive influx of players involved or bed in. He dropped lucky with a change of system to 3 at the back and has obviously been a breath of fresh air from Mourinho. He dropped lucky that the confidence grew and Costa started firing and they've gone on a run.

Table doesn't lie, we are where we are atm, there are reasons for it, tough / unlucky breaks and all. If we're still in this position turning February then I'll start raising an eyebrow.

And IF VG would have signed the players he reportedly wanted to sign going into this season, then yes, he would have been challenging now and I'd have tipped him to win it. Not saying I would have liked what I was looking at though.

Into February I'd expect him to have strung a run together and be tapping on the top 4 door with more resilient performances. That would be the progress I'd be expecting / looking for. I've written the title off but top 4 is still all to play for.
