Merson says Manchester United moved the ball very quickly against West Ham and did the job well. I had been saying for a while that United would batter someone soon as they create so many chances without scoring. However, this is a hard game for them at Everton. Goodison Park will be rocking as they'll want to get one over United. It will be interesting to see if Jose Mourinho plays Paul Pogba. I think they moved the ball quicker without him in the team. Sometimes he slows the play down, although he's not playing in his proper position. I'm still unsure about Pogba, especially as I'm such a big fan of Henrik Mkhitaryan - he's their best player, by a long way. He's different gravy. PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1

Different gravy  Everton are on a similar run to us, 3 wins in the last 10 compared to our 2 so both teams could do with a win. With our back four as it is and our struggle for goals I hope Mourinho has us playing on the front foot which will largely be determined by his selection. Does have a dilemma on his hands though with Micky and Martial coming into form, Herrera and Mata have both played well this season too and I don't expect him to leave Pogba/Ibra out so someone is going to miss out unless Ander plays alongside him. De Gea Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Blind Carrick - Pogba Micky - Mata - Martial Ibra
Love Herrera but Mata has been our best player for me this season and I'd love to see that front four.

Well we're going from strength to strength aren't we..
Michael 'take as long as you want' Oliver killing our rhythm in the game, if they are injured get them off the fecking pitch, absolute joke. Appalling referee performance all game.
Hats off to Mourinho though, what an inspired substitution.

Looking at Chelsea on the floor last season and now flying it high at the top of the league and hardly got a much different of a squad to ours, new manager in a new league its baffling. We can't rely on our defence and can't rely consistently on our attack. We've been playing the same tune week in week out result after result. 1 step forward and 2 back. City and Liverpool after today presented with a golden opportunity and yet again we blew
what exactly are we about. i've no idea really.

jose we deserved to win unfortunate series of draws ...... the players played very well today ......... He was way shorter than usual
Pants for that result but we should have been down to 10 how Rojo stayed on I'll never know DDG saved the result Pogba missing in action ...... Good effort from Micky Martial ... zlat got the goal Darmian did ok despite us all wanting Blind
Still don't know how to kill a game ...... United DNA is not back yet Jose ....
Fellaini can go off to the reserves we've seen enough of him ... typically comes on, fouls and gets a yellow but the cost we paid today is just too high

Mourinho is starting to sound more and more like Wenger by the game. Style over substance

I was quite happy with the starting 11 even though Mata wasn't in it. Mickey deserved his chance, Zlatan and Martial after scoring a brace each in the last game deserved their chance, Carrick and Herrera have been playing really well and the only doubt I had was Pogba but how was Mou going to leave the worlds most expensive player on the bench? For some reason none of them shone today. It was back to the LVG days. Lethargic all over the pitch, with no game plan. Referee maybe didn't help but that's no excuse at all for todays performance. Mata is the one who links everything together and not to bring him on when 1-0 up was a big error on mous part since Everton were chasing the game and had to commit players forward but to sit back and bring on fucking wookie to try and see the game out was a disgraceful decision and Mou has to take full responsibility for the draw. The only slight positive is hopefully we'll never see Fellaini again. Never has been good enough and never will be. Still too early to be pulling the knives out on Mou and once he gets rid of players who aren't good enough or can't be fucked and brings in his own players then we should start to judge him but after his tactics and decisions today he has lost a lot of brownie points.

Jose is as pragmatic as they come so im not buying this beautiful football thing, as proven when we went to Anfield. He will do whatever he has to do to win or get a result. But to be fair even the most pessimistic United fan was surely expecting better than this with what we currently have at our disposal.
Not saying we had to go out and win the league or anything, just be back competing at the top or having some sort of say in it at least.

Why though? It's a rebuild team of strangers for the most part, cobbled together over three managers who were all tasked with restocking a squad. Why would you expect anything much after a failed pre season and three months of league action. I think he's about where he / we should be, considering I think his team selection and substitutions are average.
I think if he keeps plugging away we'll turn the corner eventually but we'll not challenge for the league. We might catch top 4 with a fair wind behind us but he needs to start turning these shitty draws into results and start pinning down and working on the obvious fragilities that are there. I don't think they fear him enough yet either.

What strangers? Zlatan is well used to moving clubs and started life in the premier league as if he always played in it and nothing to suggest that he'd have such a drop off in his finishing from that. Pogba knows all about english football, Mkhitaryan wasn't getting picked and when got starts low and behold he played well. Bailly is the only player I'd agree on that bit. And most importantly of all the manager knows the EPL.
Even van Gaal got rid of deadwood here which tells you how much of it there was and some of it still remains. The consensous was confidence drained out of the team for numerous reasons and once they got that confidence back they'd be fine.
This isn't footie manager where we can go out and buy our favourite 11 players or throw money at any problem we have.
I disagree anyway, this team should be better than its current league position. Conte at Chelsea is proof of all this, bearing in mind the poor start they had to the season too. He has pedro, hazard, costa and even victor moses firing for them., yes victor moses. That's the art of management getting more out of the sum of the parts and Conte has never managed in the EPL either.
I'm surprised you're belittling van Gaal's work because you were one of his main defenders on here pretty much until the end

Three different lots of players bought by 3 different managers and each manager stuck with the previous managers choices. This seasons batch has to bed in and last seasons newbies now having to deal with second season syndrome. None of this scenario is remotely good for a club on or off the pitch, but here we are and where we've found ourselves (courtesy of the board).
Conti has got the Mourinho side that won the league, absolutely no reason why that shouldn't all fit back into place. Conti has tweaked it a little and is a fresh face and turned it around and got on a run.
VG would have made a decent fist of it this season with what he was planning and I'd have fancied him to win the title. It just wouldn't have been a United side that we would recognise as a United side. So for that I'm not too bothered he's gone, and I wasn't keen on the player micro management on and off the pitch, I don't think it's healthy, even if he did get the results doing it.
Mourinho will get there but things are going to have iron themselves out over a full season. If they get rid of him for not getting top 4 at the end then we are well and truly fucked.
