Moving on from Feyenoord, one of the teams I personally hate playing against. On the bright side, they're doing poorly without a win in over a month, so let's keep it that way. Smalling and Bailly out from the looks of it, other than that I think we're good. Herrera was rested against Feyenoord so I'm assuming he'll start. I'm still not sure about Micky starting in this one. De Gea Valencia - Jones - Blind - Shaw Carrick Herrera - Pogba Lingard - Mata - Rashford Ibrahimovic

Merson says
Well, Manchester United have to win this and I thought they played well last week against Arsenal - in fact, they should have won. West Ham were 2-1 up with a minute to go against Tottenham, but still managed to go and get beaten 3-2. Along with where they are in the league, I'm going for United to win.
PAUL PREDICTS: 2-1

Early clanger and it really hurt us but still we had enough chances to kill this match but again 3 points escape us In fairnees The players must be as disappointed as we are couldn't fault the effort pressing high and working hard superb ball from Pogba for Zlatan Tony V was an absolute work horse ...... Rashford really should have scored .... A bit too many over optimistic long balls for my liking ..... and bringing on Fellaini for his usual foul YC, giving away a dangerous FK and not much else .... just why ? thought Micky looked a bit too eager and ended up being sloppy today, it felt like watching Di Maria. Well Pedro came good for Chelsea after a mediocre first season ....... let's see another day would've been 3 or 4:1 ........ but how many more of these can we afford and not making any head way when teams above us lose or draw. play these again on Wednesday .... come on lads wipe the floor with em

The single consolation from the league would be if City or Liverpool don't win it (especially the latters). Business end of the table isn't our business anymore, and probably hasn't been for a while, top 4 might even be a struggle.
This was the time when we were meant to be hitting our stride in the league with the run of games we had especially after the walloping Chelsea gave us. But it's the same ol' same ol'

Sloppy start to the first half conceding from yet another aerial ball, the sooner Smalling and Bailly are back the better. We recovered well though and controlled the match, got back into it with the equaliser and should have gone in one or two up but once again poor finishing. Second half was dreadful, West Ham did up their game a little but we came out deflated maybe sensing it wasn't going to happen and that's not on. Didn't get going until the last 20 or so and with our ratio of shots and actually putting them in the net well we didn't have enough time. I'm not sure why Mourinho changed the side today, surely you'd play your goal scorers when you are lacking goals and taking Mata off as well, unless for some reason he was thinking about the cup and at the minute we're a cup team just about. Without Carrick we struggle to create sustained attacks which is a worry but still we created a number of chances to win the match yesterday, just could not finish them. Scored more under LVG and Moyes ffs

8 points better off at this point in the league last season compared to now. It wasn't pretty.
Tells us exactly where we're at

91 shots on goal - 3 goals...
remember the times we haven't had a single shot on goal under LVG. I was at OT that day against Southampton and lost voice for days in anger. This is much better but we need to take another step forward to turn our play into winning.
Our midfield is finally sorted with Pogba+Herrera+Carrick and we dominate the centre. Next is wings. Rashford and Martial are no.9's to me, Mata a no.10. All can play there but neither is a perfect fit. Hope Miki can improve that.

 Dave, well... just goes on to show you that if we had my team we would have won.
In all honesty though, it was not one of our best displays but it was definitely good enough to win against a very poor West Ham. It's a shame but I'd rather play like that and draw than win with boring sideways football. The signs are there, the results will follow.
Anyway, moving to the next thread
