Next match up - Comfortable home win Merson thinks the same lol Manchester United v Burnley - Saturday, 3pm Zlatan Ibrahimovic was a world-class striker but he's not anymore. He is 35 and playing in the hardest league in the world so as the season goes on, I can't see him getting better. Jose Mourinho will obviously stick with him despite his recent struggles and he should get a few opportunities against Burnley, who haven't looked up to scratch away from Turf Moor. It looks like a routine home win to follow up Wednesday's big result over rivals Manchester City. PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0

Rashford, Smalling, Rooney and Martial all on a late fitness test for this one.....
.... hopefully Rashford will be rested don't want to burn him out even though he's our bright star on the pitch.
Against Burnely we should have enough
DDG
Tony V Rojo Blind Shaw
Herrera Pogba
Lingard Mata Young
Zlatan

We desperately need a 'comfortable home win' and a decent performance too.

I kinda went to the previous thread and put my comments there so with the risk of repeating myself... I think we should start with Carrick. The rest of the team pretty much picks itself based on fitness and form. We're getting into a relatively easy period now so this is when Mourinho needs to show his genius and grind out results against the likes of Burnley, Swansea etc But seriously, start Carrick. Get Schneiderlin some minutes and get him into proper shape. Every time we've played with a defensive midfielder we've looked better and it also gives Pogba more freedom. And Herrera can do a little bit of both

I think he'll more likely play in midweek, Burnley have done well since coming up but haven't picked up any points away from home so Herrera and Pogba should suffice plus Mata deserves to play also.
De Gea Valencia - Blind - Rojo - Shaw Herrera - Pogba Lingard - Mata - Martial Ibra
Not sure on that CB pairing but Rojo had a good game against City, give Rashford a little breather as well. Hopefully we get to see some of Mkhitaryan from the bench.

I am not so sure that this will be a runaway win for United. We may see some " Phew we got the City game out of the way " hangover response. Burnley will go all out like all small teams do to put up dogged resistance at The Theater of Dreams so my prediction is 2 - 1 to United.

Think it depends on how early we score and wind them.

1 of those days, oh wait 2 of those days, 3? Anyway we're supposed to be back up at the top competing again and we're showing no signs of it so far. Many works in progress going on in this league, ours is not exception. We knew the score after our "result" and "performance" against.
This is what was supposed to change under the new set up that we could blow away the poor teams and do the best we can and avoid defeat against the bigger side. We're not achieving either I'm afraid

So we played well but were unlucky not to score?
