Lee Ki Ji is going to Ulsan Hyundai from the Newcastle jets
Jets seem to be having a bit of an exodus with David Carney getting linked with a move to Qatar (at this stage of his career it would be best to get that payout)

Yan Dhanda becomes the first player of indian origin to sign a senior contract with liverpool
Shame England already capped him at youth level, i want to see this guy represent India and at least go out there and help them (they need it), actually it might be in his best interests also, he'd a huge star in India if he did (an EPL player that is India, he'd be as popular as the cricketers actually). He can represent India and still play EPL
speaking of the scousers, they blocked a move by the Olyroos to call up Brad Smith (actually fair enough, its qualifiers and Smith is getting playing time at liverpool, not like the english can steal another of our left backs, we actually capped this one)

Melbourne Victory 1-1 Perth Glory
two penalties, both soft as (one coming from a Berisha dive of course, which if it goes to MRP, Bes is getting banned for a week). Victory need something in January they really do or else they're cooked, thinking maybe Bozanic may have to be done with because they really miss milligan, they need a midfielder who is real quality, losing milligan and valeri is a huge hit and they clearly are lacking now, they need someone with leadership, i said at the start of the season they should have gone for Holland instead of Bozanic, he would have been the better candidate just due to what he brings as a DM. Perth also are rubbish and they need to make some changes also, but at least they played better in the 2nd half this game
Crowd: 22,544 (about what you expect from the victory, not a great crowd but perth are bad and the victory are out of form, so not a bad crowd, plus the cricket is on, not that it should matter)
Brisbane Roar 3-1 Melbourne City
we were sublime, dominated the opening 20 and really took it to them, own goal was a bit of a joke from city as kisnorbo had no business putting it into his own net from there. The second goal from us though, Petratos i give a lot of shit to, but that assist was amazing, and he was very good as of late, he put that pass in between the two defenders perfectly for borello, who just had to place the shot. City in the second half though through Fornalini equalised, poor goal to conceed after the half and young should have stayed on his feet, after that very 50-50 as it felt city could get back into it or Roar could close it off, we came very close in the 60th and city hit the crossbar in the 82nd but at the end, the 93rd minute goal from halfway from henrique due to the keeper being out was amazing
Crowd: 16 435 (very good crowd for the top of the table clash, does help that tomorrow is a public holiday but anything north of 15k is pretty damn good, and city isn't historically a good draw)

In Malaysia heard Negeri Sembilan FA have Gary Phillips as their manager as well as 4 former a-league players
Andrew Nabbout Joel Chianese Taylor Regan Alex Smith
Honestly Nabbout is actually pretty solid, as well as Chianese, both should have gotten gigs at other a-league clubs, Regan and Smith though are kinda rubbish at the a-league level so not too sure about them, then again in Regan's defense everyone on that Jets team maybe apart from Lee looked horrible. Smith also has a good scoring record at NPL level in Queensland scoring 30 in 41 games, though the malaysian super league should be a step up from NPL Queensland, i doubt he scores as freely, though Nabbout and Chianese should be scoring goals and plenty of them

I will keep a watch-out on them. however, why is Negeri Sembilan able to employ 4 Aussies? The rules state that only 3 foreigners are allowed and 1 more needs to be from within Asia (not including Australia) :-/

in the a-league transfers involving cash is banned (stupid anti competition laws made by idiots basically who don't understand the game) however i do believe a deal like this is allowed
however Adelaide are absolute idiots in this, they get rid of their 2nd best player basically (best defensive player) and trade him for a player who is very average (Williams has his moments but he is incredibly frustrating also), even if they where going to put their eggs in the elsey basket, they could do much much better than williams (one of the Victory wingers like Barbarouses, especially since they need a guy who can play CDM, something Malik is really good at)
For city this is a steal, Malik under the cap gives them a hell of a CB, one of the best in fact (he can play both CDM and CB), makes them very formidable, almost wish the roar did this

Robinho has left Guangzhou Evergrande after his 6 month deal ended, he is now a Free Agent
with the january transfer window now open i guess i'll cover potential marquee's for the a-league (or just foreign options for any club in asia really)
Emmanuel Adebayor - Despite the struggles he has had in the premier league since leaving Arsenal, we know that he is quality, now a free agent and at 31 years of age, now would be a great time to capitalise and make some money, he's a big man at 6'3, he has what you need for a striker, good shot, good positioning, reasonable pace, well at least for the a-league (he wouldn't be fast but he'd be passable at least, he'd probably skin steffanuto and some of the worst full backs), most importantly he has an eye for goal, he would be a 15+ goal a season guy and he is still a big name and would be the biggest name in the league if he where to come in, of course he'd command the biggest pay packet but he would be the biggest name to come to the league since Del Pierro.
Best Fit: Sydney FC (ideal fit, he is a big name signing, living up to the bling FC nickname. In addition to this, he gives them something they've been missing the whole season since Marc Janko went back to Europe, that is goals, Holosko is a good player for what he is, but he isn't a goal machine and he won't really be, Sydney haven't scored nearly enough, now if they could keep Holosko and move Brosque under the cap that would be great but if not they are covered in terms of creative positions, Adebayor gives them a better goalscorer than even Janko and would bring in the crowds again for them, they had 12k come to see them against central coast which is horrid, they're getting lower crowds than the Roar and Wanderers now).
Robinho - He's never really lived up to his potential has he, but my oh my he is still a fantastic player, hard to believe he's also 31, again, would be a huge name and would command a high wage, would not surprise me if he finally lands up at Orlando City with Kaka like we all thought he would but anyway if he comes to the a-league, he'd offer a good amount of pace and dribbling that would still trouble anyone, he'd be a real success in the league as maybe not an out and out striker (not to say he wouldn't get goals, he would get plenty i would suspect) but his true value would be as a winger or a #10 who frees up the striker.
Best Fit: Melbourne City (Oh boy City have messed up with marquees, after the David Villa guest stint debacle they've brought in Robbie Koren as the main marquee and he has sucked badly, he has been worse than a lot of the locals when healthy, which isn't often, they get rid of him in january, and provided they still have Mooy after this window, getting Robinho as the other marquee, with Fornaroli as the main striker, they would have to be favourites, in addition, they are probably the only other team apart from Sydney FC who would be willing and able to throw that sort of cash around for a marquee player, also would help their god awful crowd figures which are basically central coast levels of bad)
Kevin Prince Boateng - Surprised he actually isn't with Schalke anymore given what a big star he was until about 2 years ago, anyway still a very good attacking midfield and at only 28, i am sure he would have plenty to offer. He would be a hell of a steal to get for the league
Best Fit: Melbourne City (Again, if Mooy leaves City, they will need a damn good player to replace him, Boateng is most certainly that type of player, now that teams can have 2 foreign marquee players, City would be foolish not to take advantage of that, they are one of the few teams with the money to do so, getting Boateng and Robinho as marquees, with the likes of Novillo and Fornaroli as the other foreigners, as well as Ivan Franjic, Erik Paartalu and now potentially Osama Malik, they'd be a force
Other Potential Marquee's for the a-league: Georgios Samaras, Illsinho, Morgan Amalfitano, James Troisi, Leandro Damiao, Kevin Nolan, Maarten Martens

On the topic of Free Agents
former Wigan player Bo-Kyung Kim has signed a 2 year deal with Jeonbuk Motors in Korea. This comes after spending the last 6 months or so at J2 League side Matsumoto Yamaga

Melbourne Victory 4-0 Brisbane Roar
by far our worst game of the season, absolute shambles all over, Nigro looks like a future star though
Also Mariners have signed former Liverpool player Luis Garcia. They did also sign Matthew Fletcher who has played at the youth levels in england (stoke, spurs and a few others)
Even if he isn't that great, at least Garcia is somewhat of a name to add to the a-league, may help the coasts crowds

Brazilian Striker Luiz Adriano has signed for Jiangsu Suning (Formerly Jiangsu Sanity) from AC Milan for a free believed to be around 14 million euro's. He joins Cheik Tiote in the Chinese Super League, who has moved to Shanghai Shenhua for a free of 5 million pounds
the CSL has never been afraid of throwing money around, at least it ain't just Evergrande this time. with the 3+1 rule, this is what you need to do.
Speaking of Evergrande, they've been linked with a move for Nikica Jelevic from West Ham
genuinly surprised by that, Jelevic is good but Evergrande are a bit like Real Madrid in the sense that they'll want a superstar, Jelevic hasn't been that level since he left. Amazed they haven't been going after Alexandre Pato more, i know he's been linked to the top european teams, but he seems like a guy who could go to them if he fails to secure a move to a top team. Also their foreigners include Ricardo Goulart (whose scored 21 from 30), Elkeson and Alan. These are all top quality players.
some great players are playing in China now. Waiting for someone to put a bid in for Adebayor now (one of them will)

They're now going to be linked to a million and one players
i think they'll try get someone who can boost the abysmal crowds (Robinho), City don't draw anything basically, especially in comparison to their rivals the Victory. They'll have to get a big name and go the Sydney route, i mean it did work for a bit when Villa was there.

please for the love of god no, don't bloody ruin your career, he'll be back in Australia in 2 years if this happens.
Our players are so god damn money hungry and have no long term vision, just stick it out and you'll be playing and probably earning more money than even in China in a year or two.
China is 100% ok for a player who is past his prime or even towards the end of it (early 30's) or a player who reasonably has no chance at Europe and wants to make money, but not for a player who is in europe right now, doing well and could move up to a bigger club or bigger league (i honestly wouldn't be surprised if Ajax, PSV of Feyenoord want him eventually)

Australia drew with Jordan in the U23's and now are out of the olympics
Aurelio Vidmar needs to fuck off, he's a hack of a coach. How do we not qualify for the olympics is beyond me, get someone in that is halfway competent. Even if that coach is a foreign coach, it doesn't matter, they need someone who coaches the same style as Ange, Vidmar sure as hell doesn't (honestly the way Vidmar is coaching i actually wonder would he be able to coach at a-league level again, because if he can't get the U23's to beat Jordan we have issues)
hopefully the national team trashes Jordan 10-0 or something to keep their fans mouths shut (talk so much shit for being a rubbish footballing nation)

Ramires has moved to Jiangsu Suning for a record 25 million pounds (or 235 million yuan)
well holy shit they're going all out to become the force in Asia, its the same way Guangzhou hit the scene, but even they didn't make such a big move, the 3+1 rule is changing things a lot, the CSL looks like it could become the #1 league in asia very soon, if they invest in footballing infrastructure they'll easily have the domestic talent to go with it also
In addition to this deal, they're also interested in Inter Milan's Freddy Guarin for 13 million pounds and have already signed Australian Trent Sainsbury
they're making big time moves
in other CSL news, Elkson has moved to Shanghai SIPG from Guangzhou Evergrande and they said "they wanted to help them achieve glory" Guangzhou Evergrande in a nutshell  this club makes no sense
