Australia would have whacked Malaysia 10-0 a couple of weeks ago. They were that bad Bangladesh were lucky not to get whacked 15-0 by us, i think we legit took pity on them, they were like headless chickens bangladesh, actually i was mad we didn't beat them at least 8-0, showed a lack of killer intent

another brisbane roar fan forum, this time John Aloisi is taking it
Aloisi sounds very professional at least. this is actually a lot better than the last fan forum, they seem to be very open with the fans and answering a lot of questions.
Also Henrique a citizen tomorrow  its about damn time, now we can go and maybe recruit some quality foreign players (well, more than corona)

Craig Moore speaking truth in terms of young players going to the middle east not being a good move, it really isn't
also some guy said it feels like Brisbane Roar Pty Ltd instead of Brisbane Roar FC over the last two years, which is so true. the bakries are trying to run us like a business, which would make sense if the roar didn't bleed money

Aloisi says they have no say and input into the business side, saying we have a limited budget, but from a football side of things, Alosi has the final say questions about how seriously the club takes the CL, John wants to win it all though he's talking about being the best team in asia and the best league in asia, admits its very hard (no shit) mentions travel, injuries etc. as is with playing continental football, you need a huge squad, also salary cap issue, no other league in asia has that Aloisi mentioning that we play in the international break (i agree, de bohun is a failure to having games during international break, it messes up so many seasons, it screwed sydney out of the premiership last season)

in terms of active support
their is a new faction in the wanderers called the Western Sydney Terrace, who are splitting from the RBB due to disagreements
i think this new group will probably be less ultra and more moderate (guessing a more family friendly group) if they have this lot at one end, and RBB at the other it could work i guess, two different ways to support the team

Roar is one step closer to becoming Roarcelona and the league becoming the a-liga with another signing
Javi Huervas who used to play for Sevilla, only 26 years old and is said to be a bit in the mold of scholes, so that sounds promising

First game of the new a-league season:
Western Sydney Wanderers 1-3 Brisbane Roar
scoreline very flattering to us, we had 49% possession and had 9 shots (4 on target) versus the wanderers 21 shots (6 on target) they were bad in front of goal, very very bad. A lot of fouls on both sides (16 to the wanderers, 11 for the roar) and a hell of a lot of offsides to the wanderers (6 of them). Overall though it shows, if you don't take your chances, you won't win. Wanderers though look a lot better, and we are looking reasonably good also for a first game, obvious rust from both sides but both seem like they should finish at the lower end of the finals ranks if they play like this, fair result given both are rebuilding
Jamie MacClaren had a fantastic debut, 2 goals and was tireless. Nichols scored against us, also celebrated which i was none too pleased about but anyway, he had a very good game also.
for us, wins = fan confidence and confidence in the players and staff = more memberships (we're 2nd last atm, behind central coast of all teams) = more wins and more memberships = more money = bigger interest to buy = bakries finally fucking off
Attendance: 14,122 (could have been better but pretty good for a thursday night)

Jordan 2-0 Australia
We were so bad, spiranovic, Milligan need to go and we need lounge back at cm or cam and lecture on one wing, oar on the other with oar out wide and Levine being the one cutting in
Jordan were dirty as and for the first time in a while I hoped we could call on the spirit of Muscat so we could break one of the Jordanians legs, ref certainly was on their side too
But shit reffing
We need to make sure we charge $1000 for away tickets when they come here, do the same thing they did to all the travelling fans
Ange needs to wake up, this game was concerning, think he needs to shake it up in terms of selection again, it's becoming a bit stale with favouritism towards some guts

Adelaide United 0-0 Melbourne Victory
what was Berisha doing, some terrible first touches from him and bad shots, rare and strange. Anyway even as you like game, both teams had 10 shots, only 2 on target (thats bad) with Adelaide getting 51% possession.
Broxham is so dumb to get sent off, why, if you are on a yellow card, would you jump and put your forearm into the back of an opponent, thats asking for trouble and he deserves the 2nd yellow for sheer stupidity.
Peter Green catching stick for that though again from Muscat (who, should be banned from speaking about any yellows and reds given his record  )
Crowd: 19 079 (jesus, that is bad for the Adelaide Oval and a game against the vuck, fans don't really like Adelaide Oval, rather of had this at Hindmarsh, full house at Hindmarsh with this crowd gets adelaide through, simple)
anyway lackluster start to the a-league in terms of crowds. 14k at wanderers and 19k at the 55k capcity adelaide oval against their rivals, not good, anyway the advertising has been poor, marketing department at the a-league need the flick, and De Bohun's position as head of the a-league should be in question

Central Coast Mariners 3-2 Perth Glory
Glory where poor the whole game whilst mariners did lift to complete the comeback.
Physical encounter as you would expect with two penalties to central coast. 6 Yellow cards in total with back and forth action. disallowed goal to perth and some dodgy penalty calls, not one of Strebre's best games and Lowe will probably be spewing.
Perth peppered the goal the whole time, missed one shot whole game, same with the mariners who had more shots, but maybe not as accurate.
First goal from the mariners deserves benny hill music, how it was a goal i am not sure
Crowd: 8073 (not that bad)
also mics caught Covic somehow

Wellington Phoenix 1-2 Newcastle Jets
both were freaking awful. Phoenix regressed badly, they looked bad at home. If they play like this, no contest they will win the wooden spoon. That first goal was so badly defended, David Carney of all people scored from a free header because no one was near him in the box, that is some of the worst defending around the goal i have seen, it was shameful, not even comical, just shameful. Kishna missing the penality just compiles onto their misery (that was just as much Biraghiti though), they need to go back to the drawing board, they need a defender or three to come in, Durante and Sigmund are solid, but too slow and similar, they desperately need some full backs who are a-league level also. Fenton by no means is a full back, he's a winger for sure, and a damn good one if played right.
I see Nigel Boogard is still just as bad as he was at Adelaide, sent off after a 2nd yellow, does this guy learn, just stop it already, and he debuted as captain as well (why would you want him as captain i really don't know). The guy has overtaken Muscat in terms of the most red cards in the leagues history as well as the highest points (2 for red, 1 for yellow) at 42, 3 ahead of musct, Muscat at least is a thug, this guy is just clumsy
at least they looked better than last season, but they aren't any threat to any other team. Milos with a goal on debut is nice though. Would take Lee at the roar any day to ease our LB woes, they can have corey brown in exchange
Crowd: 6 255 (getting outdrawn by Gosford by 1,800 plus it sounding like a library, yeah i am not confident about them getting their license renewed unless NZF finally get it together and joins asia)

also the attendance in the first round compared to others this is going to be one of those seasons for the league, hardly anything went right in the offseason for about 7/10 clubs (Jets, Victory, Sydney FC being the obvious exceptions)

Carlos managing an a-league club would be great, if he does well with Delhi this season and he knows the a-league and the conditions i can't see why not, he has managed in Turkey, the man has obvious connections also and ffs, its Roberto freaking Carlos, the man is the best set piece taker of all time, if he can coach teams and players to take set pieces and free kicks like he did, my god he would do amazing things. In terms of likely candidates he would replace, Wanderers if Popa has another bad start (talking 8th or lower), Lowe potentially, though that isn't a great situation because of Sage or even Melbourne City if JVS doesn't do his job, though i feel they would go for a more experienced option in the a-league (mulvey)

Adelaide United 1-1 Western Sydney Wanderers
Andreu goes from zero (conceeding the own goal) to hero (scoring the equaliser) with roles for tarik elrich (forcing the own goal to the sloppy pass straight to andreu) reversing also.
Got to say this, not a huge fan of Elrich at RB for Australia, hopefully a better option can come along and soon, anyway Adelaide United are in a bit of strive, 2 home games 2 draws and a draw against a side which on paper is worse in the wanderers. Wanderers though, big improvement from last weeks loss to the roar at home, this may bring back a bit of faith
Crowd: 9,442 (wow, um ok that was unexpectedly bad, friday night in adelaide, wow that is really bad, club may want to sort this out, anything less than 11k for them is shocking, they have more members then that i am pretty sure)
