So I was pm'd about the Official Fantasy Premier League game being opened and it's about time! Since the game has been fully launched, you guys can create your own teams and sign up for our private league. It seems like no rules have been changed in a dramatic fashion so the fantasy veterans don't need to read up on too much rules (although it's always encouraged). We've got two leagues in play here. The first one is the Manchester United Forum - Classic League, where players will climb and fall down the table depending on their overall fantasy points. The one on the top is the ultimate winner. The other one is the Manchester United Forum - H2H League, where fixtures will be automatically selected and forum members will compete directly with other forum members. You win, you get 3 points. You draw, you get 1 point. You lose, you get nothing. This is how you'll climb up and down the table. The league will end with two knockout rounds - the last round will determine who wins the league. If you are interested in playing, I recommend you head over to the Official Fantasy Premier League website by clicking on the link below: fantasy.premierleague.com/Select your team, read the rules (please do), and send me a message so that I may give you the codes to enter both leagues. Currently, the rules are that only actual forum members are allowed to participate. I will only give the codes to members that have made a minimum of 10 posts. Anyone can sign up for the Classic league at any time, even during the season - although you will be at a disadvantage if you don't sign up early on. However, the H2H league will close at the start of the season. I will register members in pairs (first come, first serve) so that we have an even number of competitors. So please, sign up immediately so you can have a better chance of entering. I just want to give you all the heads up - I'm not sure if I can update this thread weekly like I have in the past. I will certainly try but a lot of stuff is changing in my life right now so I've found myself to be quite erratic with my responsibilities. But hey, I have to prioritize, so while I will do my best to keep this game going, I'd encourage you guys to keep this thread alive. If anyone here thinks they can take on the responsibility of sending reminders before the gameweek deadlines, that would be awesome. I think I can post the tables and results, it's just that I may find myself posting them a bit late every once in a while. I can't post the screenshot so I'll type it, this is my current draft of players so far.
The forwards are expensive really, but Gray and Negredo are cheap enough options
Goalkeepers: Jakupovic and Konstantopoulos
Defenders: Dann,Fuchs,Bertrand,Walker and Van Aanholt.
Midfielders: Ozil, Martial,Bolasie,Mkhitaryan and Gradel.
Forwards: Gray, Zlatan and Negredo.

I am still learning this Fantasy gizmo so help me out if I am on the wrong track. My very good friend Red or Dead convinced me to give it a go. I have still to study the game and it's rules but so far I have picked a few members of my Fantasy Team:
1. You need someone Big Upfront so I have chosen Dolly Parton.
2. Dolly will need someone alongside who is good in the air so I have chosen Amy Johnson.
3. You need players who are quick on each wing and as AM, so Usain Bolt, Mo Farah with Caster Semenya as AM.
4. Goalkeeper, you need someone who can catch balls so Paris Hilton gets the gloves.
5. Twin center backs, you need commanding figures who can stare down the opposition attackers, so Margaret Thatcher and Angela Merckel get the nod.
How am I doing so far guys ? Be honest and don't try to spare my feelings.

OK so no objections raised so far. So I have 8 positions covered so 3 more first team choices and 5 substitutes to go.
The basics of my team so far are all Rock Solid in their positions so my team needs some individual Magic. I therefore am giving a roving brief to Dynamo, David Blane and Harry Houdini who may play a sleeping role ( because he is dead ).
Substitutes 5 of, so I am going with The Who ( know your Rock songs guys ? )
Miguel, so how does the scoring work exactly ?
Will I get extra points for Harry not getting sent off ?
Do I have to predict Who in the Who will come on for Who ?
If Angela and Margaret end up having a violent disagreement on Policy and hit each other, not any of the opposition can the Ref send them off for Ungentlemanly conduct ?
If Paris's little dog escapes from her handbag and stops a certain goal on the Goal line which Bitch will be shown a Yellow card ?
If Dolly's natural assets should become visible due to a wardrobe malfunction is she allowed a Shirt Change on the pitch or must she retire to the dugout ? Also can her squad number be emblazoned on her shirt as " 48 FF ".

I am seriously considering whether to add my considerable Persona to this game. My vast following on this forum will be swayed whether or not to participate by a Nod from me.
What concerns me is the lack of feed back on my Legitimate queries and the deadline is fast approaching.
As the minister of transport in the Harold Macmillan government once said " Time and Tide and the number 69 bus from Clapham wait for No One " !!!!

Now back to this Crazy sorry Fantasy game that all you Sane people seem to find amusing, am I missing something here ? Does the winner get to be let out of the Asylum once a week to go to the Crazy store and buy more Crayons ? As no one has come back to me I have persuaded my huge following to Participate in my Game. You lot will not be able to see it because it is INVISIBLE. Oh I see I have got your attention, but no unless the All Powerful and most Beautiful Lady in the Universe Jie asks me to you are all banned. By the way Jie, did I thank you for my Brie ?  |

I am overwhelmed with the response I am getting for the game I launched 2 hours ago. So far we have 43 signed up to participate, it is amazing the interest you get when a Cash prize is on offer ! I had to correct one entrant when he commented " this is way better than competing for a 1980's Soccer Ball with a puncture ". In fairness I had to point out his error in that it is circa 1960's. Hi Jie, ( The Centre of my World ) you are correct my second middle name is Disregard similar to Beauregarde ( Pro Wrestler ). I got that because the Vicar who Christened me was hard of hearing. |
