Bailly looks like a rough diamond. Has a mistake in him but he has all the attributes; strong, quick and reads the game well. Reckon with a few years under Jose's tutelage he could be very good.
Memphis needs to sort his shit out.

Seen virtually nothing of the game.. Can anyone actually pick out any bright things about our play or is it just same old same old?

Bailly showed some positive signs, Shaw looking like he's fully over his injury and was going into tackles full throttle, Adnan looked bright when he came on. Besides that it was fucking terrible.

Feel more happy about not watching it if it was that bad. On to city I guess. Fuck I hope there's something to be happy about by the community shield!

Didn't watch the game, only the highlights but oh man... This is bad even with the line up and lack of games considered. It was painful to watch our defence with schoolboy errors as Dave so correctly noted.
Not quite sure what our expectations for City should be but as I'd finally get the chance to watch a game we better perform better than that.

Good decision, no need for a waterball game. Squad returns to Manchester later today so we can start proper preparation.
tbh I never fancied a pre-season game against the berties so I am not too bothered

Wouldn't be surprised to see us play a behind closed doors game against a local side like Bury or possibly even the u21's. Could get that arranged and played by Wednesday/Thursday.

Been a poor job, flying all the way for China just for two matches, the first being played in horrible conditions and on a shit pitch so if you aren't used to that it's difficult to build rhythm. Now the second one is cancelled, does nobody check the weather reports beforehand or what, all in all a bit of a waste of time and excessive travel.
Think the City game had it gone ahead would have been pretty similar anyway so not a huge loss, we'll probably arrange a behind doors game, still got Gala, Roo's testimonial and Liechester. With the Euro's players shouldn't be too out of shape etc. so shouldn't effect us hugely.

The match followed a similar theme to the other games poor first half and improved second, understandable given the lack of game time for the starters. Played some great stuff second half, nice goals, Carrick running the show. Again good minutes for Shaw and Bailly looked good once more.
Rashford, Lingard and Memphis were sharp second half.
