Weird. I still think Valencia is likely to miss because I think he's still recovering from the Copa America, might be wrong though

Was a good day's work. Mkhitaryan was the biggest plus, bags of quality. I know it was only Wigan in a pre-season friendly but can't help but be excited to see what's to come from him when the league starts. Also thought Bailly looked very comfortable and composed (again, trying to not get too carried away due to the nature of the games).
Pereira scored a great goal and looked better in that deeper midfield role than I thought he would. It was good to hear Jose's comments after the game concerning him and Tuanzebe. On Tuanzebe/young players he said "You can play 90 minutes or 1 minute. Sometimes 1 minute is enough. With Axel, ten minutes is enough! The potential is there, you see it immediately. You know him better than me because you know him for a few years but if anyone sees him for the first time, ten minutes is enough to see the potential."

You didn't miss much Ed. OK, Dortmund had a few more games under their belt but the difference in sharpness was more than obvious. When you see a front 3 of Mata, Jesse and Memphis you just know Dortmunds defence wasn't going to be troubled. I expected more from Mickey but still very early days for him. Herrera huffs and puffs but he doesn't really blow the house down. Disappointing to say the least and even though it was only a pre season game Mou will be hurting from this one. Jones, Rojo and Memphis should be sold to put us out of our misery.

Yeah, Mou was in philosophical mood about it all.
Weather looked a cunt to battle by looks of it too.

Good workout given the conditions other than that I don't think we learnt anything. First half was proper dross, second half we improved and there were some bright moments, better build up play and a nice goal. Bailly looks good, showed his pace against Aubamayeng, Shaw and Jones lacking match sharpness having not played a great deal of football, Blind did ok and Januzaj was bright coming off the bench.
The goals conceded were a collections of schoolboy errors and dubious refereeing, with more games that type of stuff will iron out. It's the attack that is slightly worrying, could do with more refreshing and some real pace. I don't know.. feel we are missing something, maybe Januzaj can sort his shit out and step up.
