Sacked or resigned time will tell, apparently his position has been under review for a while.
With the whole academy changes there were always going to casualties. He's done well in his time here but perhaps has plateaued and it's time for fresh new blood.

Dunno yet, Have no idea what's going on. I know they can't a win this season and it's a full on collapse, but shit happens. Sure more will come out.

whoever they get better be a damn guarantee of pushing out quality youth. Think moreso than even attracting big names, we need to be making those sort of players at the club and keeping them here for the long term.

It's weird to have a great U21s team, a somewhat decent first team and then the U18s without a single win in like 12 (?) performances now. Obviously they've pushed a lot of talent to the U21s but you should still have people taking their place easily. We'll see how it goes with all the talk about changes in our academy

Not necessarily because a lot of the U18's are coming from a lower age category to make up numbers. It's not as black and white as some people make it out to be. It should still be better though, which is why it's something we're looking to reform.

I haven't seen any games so I was just basing that on things I've read, but some papers suggest we're gonna go for a director of football sort of character for the entire academy that would be able to oversee the whole process, so I'm curious to see how that will turn out

Yeah the media loves comparing how poor our academy is compared to City's and others. Yet how many players are being brought through into the first team at these clubs?

City are snapping up all the younger talent, they have second to none facilities and coaches full time etc. we just can't compete with that at the minute. We've stagnated and need an overhaul but it doesn't happen overnight, good news is that we are facilitating change and seem to be heading in the right direction now. We'll have to see what develops.
As Jamie said and Ed in midweek, for the youngsters in the u21's or coming into that from other clubs, they will get a chance here and there is a route to the first team which other top clubs don't provide currently.

Exactly. City can snap up as much young talent as they want. If they're not going to get the chance what's the point? You'd imagine it's only a matter of time before some start to come through but I'm not convinced. Too focused on the here and now rather than allowing a young player develop in the first team.

Aye, I'm not convinced either as we had the same when Chelsea first came on the scene, I think City are more serious though.
British players will always get a chance here as well, I think it was Andy Cole's son who left City because they were favouring foreigners. Out of City's current crop they are trying with I don't think I've seen a Brit either and there weren't many in their u21's on Thursday.

There's not a lot wrong with the system that reshaping and some investment can't patch up pretty quickly. Without the latter though, then nothing moves forward.
