Carrick is vital and I think it's one of key areas to look at in the summer, as we have no one else with his passing range and ability. Blind!

Can't begin to tell how happy I am with last night's performance. It wasn't perfect by all means but it was a glimpse of what this side is capable of. The pressing from midfield was fantastic and Martial is just a beast. I was really impressed with BJ once again, and Darmian stepped up too. The defense was a little shaky but I loved how the whole team went back to defend. I think they might have learned their lesson after receiving goals minutes after scoring in previous games. More of that against Chelsea, please!

Blind is growing for sure, he could step up even further yet, if he does then he's a ready made replacement, not quite there yet though but it's coming.
We still need another mid, you can't trust Basti or his fitness and Carrick's another year older.

Yep, he's far more used to the pace and physicality of the English game now, which was at times his undoing last season. Even though if you remember early last season he put in some decent displays in midfield. As good as he's done at CB I feel he's wasted that far back.

He's got goals in him so he's definitely wasted at the back. I tell you what tho, I think playing at the back against BPL forwards is what's really sharpened, toughened him up.

Completely agree and it's what will stand him in good stead in the future when he's moved back further forward.

Yeah I agree about Blind as well. He has toughen up playing at the back, but his passing range and composure is even better. He is the only one next to Carrick who can provide those quick and penetratives trough-balls.

We will see the best of Blind when he gets back to midfield, if and when Rojo and Jones can finally stay fit for ten minutes.

if and when Rojo and Jones can finally stay fit for ten minutes. The thing is we shouldn't wait on them anymore. It's about high time we get in a quality, not injury-prone first-choice CB to partner Smalling. Good if Jones and Rojo can somehow get rid of those injuries, but surely we have waited enough now.

Yep, get Stones in and let them fight it out.
