Moving on from the Sheffield game, Newcastle up next which are in a pretty poor form, so that could definitely one to boost up the confidence if we win, and if we win in style. I've given up giving predictions but I'd go for something like that: De Gea Darmian Smalling Blind Borthwick-Jackson Schneiderlin Carrick Lingard Herrera Memphis Martial I'd love to change the system into a 433, but I don't see it happening. I could probably switch Memphis for Martial and Rooney up front or vise versa

Basti is out that's confirmed.
I'd go similar to your team, Rooney behind Martial and put Ander alongside Schneiderlin but it probably will be Carrick. If Youngs fit him at RB and Darmian on the other side as we missed his threat down the right on Sat.
Newcastle have been inconsistent but tend to turn up when the TV crew are in town and have looked fairly good against the big boys if I recall correctly. I don't expect them to just sit back so we should get our chances.

Hopefully Ander along side Morgan. Darmain tends to play better on the left in the attacking sense.

I thought BJ did really well so I'd give him another full 90, if he's not burnt out of course. You can always switch Darmian to the left or put Young as a sub

Picking up on something Dave said above regarding Newcastles performance against the bigger clubs.
Newc v Everton Everton shaded it 0-1 Newc v Liverpool Newc won 2-0 Newc v Chelsea 2-2 Newc v Arsenal Arsenal shaded it 0-1
Newcastle up their game when the big boys around so no easy peasy walk in the park for United and of course the rivalry goes way back.
Add to this that most teams have worked it out that Van Gaal has United playing little diamond passing games, so they fill out the midfield and defence and wait for a stray pass and then pounce.
United's saving grace is that they do not often score. My prediction is 0-1 to United but a 0-0 draw is a distinct possibility especially with the weather factor.

Hi today I become new member in this forum. I want to discuss about a little. DARMIAN should always play in right-back. SCHNEIDERLIN should play more games and LINGARD, MARTIAL and MEMPHIS should play together as trio. Thanks.

Welcome Tayzar, hope you enjoy your time here. Ideally, they would play together as a trio in a 433 but given the current form of Memphis mhhh... not

NEWCASTLE UNITED V MANCHESTER UNITED: VAN GAAL FACING MIDFIELD HEADACHE By Dom Farrell The embattled manager will assess his options in the middle ahead of Manchester United's trip to take on Premier League strugglers Newcastle United Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is facing a selection headache in midfield ahead of the Premier League trip to Newcastle United. Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger was a casualty of Saturday's laboured 1-0 FA Cup third-round win over Sheffield United at Old Trafford, jarring his knee in a challenge with Chris Basham. Van Gaal does not expect the 31-year-old to be fit for the match at St James' Park and the manager will also monitor Morgan Schneiderlin, who was rested over the weekend following a heavy festive workload. "Schneiderlin is not injured but he's in the red zone and had an overload," the Dutchman told reporters. "In the Christmas period, he played every game and we have to take care of that. I don't take risks and, because of that, we have a very young bench. "I trust these players also because [Andreas] Pereira is coming in and was a very good substitute [against Sheffield United], I think. "With our injuries and players in the red zone, we have to take care of it. I think we have done it well." Michael Carrick and Ashley Young also sat out the FA Cup win and the challenging fitness situation could mean another outing in a deeper midfield role for Marouane Fellaini. United needed a stoppage-time penalty from Wayne Rooney to see off their lower-league opponents last time out and Fellaini does not expect things to be any easier against a Newcastle side languishing in the bottom three and coming off four consecutive 1-0 losses in all competitions. "Always in the Premier League and against lower league teams, the games are tough," Fellaini told MUTV. "There are often surprises." "Tuesday against Newcastle will be tough, it is always tough there but we started the New Year well so we have to continue that." The turgid fare on offer at Old Trafford on Saturday means Van Gaal is still struggling to win over the United faithful but victory in the north east would make it three out of three in 2016 following the eight-match winless run that wrapped up last year. Former Manchester United assistant coach Steve McClaren is also a manager under pressure at Newcastle. He felt criticism from fans during the 1-0 FA Cup loss at Watford was harsh and urged unity as his team chase a third Premier League home win of the season. "Fifty thousand people have to get behind this team and support this team," he said. "We have to stick together. I know it's difficult, it's difficult for all of us to show a little bit of patience, but there's work going on and Tuesday at home to Manchester United is the next challenge for us." Midfielder Jack Colback could shake off a hamstring problem to partially ease Newcastle's lengthy injury list, while Manchester United are without first-team regulars Phil Jones, Antonio Valencia (both ankle) and Marcos Rojo (shoulder), along with long-term victim Luke Shaw (broken leg). Key Opta stats: - Newcastle have suffered 25 Premier League defeats against Manchester United, their joint- highest tally of losses in the competition alongside those to Arsenal. - Manchester United have lost one of their past 12 Premier League trips to St James' Park (W9 D2). - United have won 12 away matches at Newcastle, second only to their record of 15 triumphs at Everton and Aston Villa. - Wayne Rooney is aiming to score in consecutive Premier League matches for the first time since November 2014. - Defeat would mean Manchester United losing three straight away Premier League matches for the first time since January 1996.

Team confirmed,
De Gea, Young, Smalling, Blind, Darmian; Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Lingard, Herrera, Martial; Rooney
subs: Romero, BJ, Weir, Mata, Periera, Memphis, McNair
Pleased about Lingard, Herrera with another shot is fine with me. Fellaini.. Meh.

Yeah if that's the 11 I'd rather have Carrick and give Schnederlin some more freedom, he could be quite dangerous going forward

Glad he's fucked Mata off, don't get why Fellaini's in central midfield though. Stick Herrera alongside Schneiderlin and give Pereira a game.
