get Martial upfront where he belongs. I am not disagreeing as such with this statement, but I would only play Martial uptop if we do get a truly quality wide forward. Mata & Depay have simply failed to reach their level this season, and it's becoming a burden for the team. We need a couple of players who can run at defenders and beat them, like Martial did on his flank on numerous occasions this season, and even Lingard with the few chances he's had. Personally though, I still think Martial is better in that left attacking position for now. I would really like to see him, Rooney and Lingard behind a beast of a striker like Lukaku or a forward of that mould.

The midfield is always consistent but that comes with having, for the first time in ages a quality selection of midfielders. But I expect more, none of them have played to anywhere near their full potential so far this season.
As for Martial I agree that he has to stay out on the left for the time-being. If we sign both a striker and a wide man this month then I'd rotate him in both positions depending on opposition and injuries. If we sign just a wide man then he has to move up front and if we sign just a striker he should stay out wide. It's all dependable on how January goes as to where he plays for the rest of this season.

Having that powerful and fast forward instead of Mata will make a difference imo. Not saying Mata is a bad player, just that he isn't productive in this system, with those players etc.
