He did away with the 433 because going 4231 is the easiest way to shoehorn Rooney into the starting XI without having to drop too many players who aren't useless cunts.

Can't disagree with that. Rooney out of the equation makes everything a hell of a lot easier.

we're boring as hell, honestly that is the most irritating thing out of this, way too conservative, should have gone out and actually gone for the jugular but LVG seems content with playing it safe
we have no excuses for not getting out of the groups, its not good enough, nowhere near good enough

Have to say there's absolutely no sense to people saying he should be sacked during the season though. We may yet win our champs league group and we're just a point off top in the league. To get rid of him in the current situation would be fucking ridiculous.
I think there's definitely a conversation to be had in the summer in terms of has he done the job he was signed up to do and how much further can he take us with just 1 year left on his contract. He definitely sees out this season though, without an ounce of doubt.

Rooney should consider going to China.
We really have been blunt in attack this season. No point having all the possession in the world but not creating any real chance whatsoever. It's all down to the manager how we are playing at the moment. We are being too overly cautious. Take some fecking risk!
Without de gea and smalling this seeason we will be somewhere near Chelsea.

I simply couldn't understand the logic in bringing on Fellaini for Schweinsteiger, that took the game away from us and did not give Fellaini the chance to have an impact on the game. Schneiderlin was good in the first half, his passing was very good but as soon as Bastian went off he couldn't keep his composure and made the game harder for himself and the team.
Lingard tries his utmost best to be fair to him but his finish or lack of cost us the 3 points you can say the same for Memphis and Martial to an extent. Not very pretty to watch, more frustrating than boring for me tonight. I believe we can and will win in Wolfsburg in the coming week but there definitely needs to be some improvements.

Seeing the back end change has been worth 3 of his 7 million a year to me, he needs to address the front end now, those players are better than this, it's up to him to tweak the fuck out of what he's got got and make it work and earn the rest.

I think it just needs to be revisited in the summer whatever happens this season. I'm talking even if he gets us playing magnificent football and we win the league.
He's only got 1 year left after this season and he's pretty much guaranteed he's not going to extend no matter what. I think the job he was brought in to do is already completed. He's stabilised us, he's got rid of the deadwood, he's assembled the best midfield we've had in years, he's turned us into a very good defensive unit, he's taught us how to keep possession (which, whether people like it or not was completely necessary if we were to progress) and he's invested money in some quality young players as well as giving a starting platform to a few youth players. Hell, if anything he's achieved more than what I think he was brought here to do.
I'm not saying I want him replaced in the summer but I think it would be sensible to at least consider our options no matter how we go for the next 6 months. I personally think we're interested in Pep as his replacement, who in turn I assume would also be incredibly interested in us. He seems the most obvious successor in terms of taking a possession based side to the next level. I also think he'll be more readily available at the end of this season. If we want him and we waited til LVG's contract runs out in 2017, there's a serious possibility he'd already be somewhere else by then.
The only other option for me is Giggs. Klopp would've been in the running but obvs that's out of the question now and I don't see us going for another short term fix like an Ancelotti. If Giggs has already been earmarked as THE NEXT guy, then the most sensible option would be to keep LVG here til the end of his contract. Another year of Giggs learning off an experienced, successful manager and another year for LVG to try and leave him in as perfect a position as he possibly can.

I agree with you there when you say LVG needs an assessment at the end of the season, no matter what happens. It's unfair in a way, because he has done some good work in key areas, which are not enough emphasised by the media: retaining possession, adopting a more solid structure and developing a better tactical awareness. He has turned our defence into a brick wall, our midfield is in excellent shape, and most of all, we have many young players who will grow together and form the next core of this team (something that is once again overlooked by all those criticising pundits).
But even LVG can't deny he looks short of ideas at the moment: we not only struggle to score, but mostly we struggle to develop incisive attacking moves, sharp attacks, brilliant play, you name it. I am not going to debate why this is happening, but one thing I am sure of is that LVG has the talent at his disposal (yes we're one quality forward short, but we knew it from the season kick off). Only he is failing to make them work properly.
In all fairness, while I have strongly supported him so far and will hopefully support him till the end of the season, I think LVG's time could be done come May. He has done an excellent job, but we need to move to a more attacking "philosophy" imo. I feel LVG is not going to take us much further now. And the obvious choice and successor is Guardiola.
I am sorry if I hurt anyone's feeling, but I wouldn't give Giggs the United job. Perhaps one day but I don't see how he could be ready rght now. He has never been a manager. Guardiola wasn't, fair enough, but he was head of the youth teams in Barca and doing a significant work already. Giggs must first prove what he has in his locker as a manager, because being a manager now is also completely different from his playing days.
