Started off like a house on fire although he's had a few quiet games by his standards. Our most important player. The one to make things happen.

You might need to edit 'de' as 'di'

I would say only the Chelsea game he was a bit down on from his previous outings, it's a shame, but I can't expect him to do everything in every game. If we are to get a result at City he will need to be much more on it, he will cause any team problems on his day.

Yeah Chelsea was his only below par performance by his standards but I think that was down to his position. Right wing isn't a good position for him in tight matches because he's forced too wide and can put in the same deliveries with his right foot. He could tear a team like Arsenal (who play with a high line, attacking fullbacks and just generally aren't good at defending) apart from there with his pace and cutting in onto his left but against Chelsea he was forced too wide which would be ok if he was on the left because then he would be a danger with his crossing ability. I think in the big/tight games (Arsenal would the exception) his best position would be left midfield, not as in winger but on the left side of a 3 man midfield or on the left of a diamond. In a deeper position he could get on the ball more and drive forward or play sharp passes, plus we get more from his work rate and energy defensively

Something very odd about him, crossing from the set pieces is close to dreadful while the same thing is completely different from the open play, when he delivers them quite delicious. Rooney on one and RvP/Mata on the other side to take them please.

This is baffling, I mean corners are a pretty basic part of the game and you know full well they must be training them ....... but it doesn't show. Too low, too long - it was already bad last season and not getting any better. I think even DDG would be a better option ............ or play them short and run in with the ball - surely less wasteful Definite nostalgia for Beckham - he could nail 20 on the trot any day of the week

Since a long time lol ................. take it up and revive the standards MA I wouldn't revive any standards. I'd probably make things worse. Have you seen the way I can derail threads if I don't hold myself together?

I think our defense has affected every single player's confidence in the squad.. When we attack, there is a bit of anxiety to score before the ball gets back to our box 18. This definately was obvious in oour play against chelsea and city, not just di maria, but also rooney missing the opportunity and prefered to pass (against city), rvp missing that early opportunity against chelsea. So I feel until the defense is addressed, pressure will always be on the attacking players..Di maria inclusive!

I don't know but it looks like some kind of a syndrome with us in recent years. Maybe I'm just imagining that but something is definitely odd.
