I still wonder what we're going to do upfront though. It's obvious we can expect that one addition, even more if Di Maria joins PSG.
But I am relieved we haven't splashed a penny on Benteke. He is certainly not worth his release clause.

Judging the manager's words Yesterday I wouldn't be surprised if Hernandez sticks around this season. He at least offers something different.

Well he's joining up with the squad on the 25th July, so I expect he's not far away.

He at least offers something different. True. Besides, he has a perfect attitude and he will do exactly what LVG wants him to. Chicharito has his limits, but he has goals, clever movements and discipline on his side, and he knows and accepts to be second or third in the pecking order. I'd much rather keep Chicharito than invest stupid money in Benteke. I don't know if we will sell him or not, but I think that, with the solid and creative CM we have, he could actually do well this season. But the summer is still long and a lot can happen. |

Yeah I agree (@ Matt). He still has all those attributes he showed in that first season and in the right side he will get goals. As you say he has a superb attitude and will do exactly as the manager asks of him without hesitation. He's not a world beater but he's still well good enough to be part of our squad especially in this system.
Seems absolutely pointless to me that we're being linked with the likes of Cavani and Lewandowski when our system uses 1 out and out striker and I think we're all in agreement that we'd like that to be Rooney this season. With these players around him Rooney will get at least 30 in all competitions.
