LvG has said that only RvP is injured but who knows. Looks like a 3-5-2, some folks on here will blame the setup if we don't win this. Unless Fellaini plays as a second striker or a target man. Could be for all we know. Plan B kicks in earlier.

We were shit in the final 3rd again and probably only deserved a draw but I'll take the win.
Just fuckin relieved at the win.

Unconvincing in the final 3rd yet again but we absolutely dominated and deserved the win. Hope my arsehole stops pulsing sometime soon though.

Thank God! These three points might be vital at the end of the season.
I think the progress is there for everyone to see, I am glad with what I've seen from the team recently.
Each game is also a sour reminder though of all the work that remains to be done. We are clearly lacking quality in depth as well as a few key profiles. LVG still needs a good summer imo to make this team complete. But I strongly believe we will get there eventually.
Well done to the lads, and my MOTM is Rooney, only for that last bit of pressing on Newcastle's defenders at the 88th minute. That's the spirit we need to get this team among Europe's finest.

One of the most bizarre matches this season. Rooney doing Falcao (finishing '26th, '30th) in the 1st half, Jonny Evans looked like a fecking Maldini , penalty for Newcastle and a goal for us denied, Carrick's face expression when listened the instructions "yeah, yeah, err.. wut? and Krul as the cherry on top. Lovely jubbly.

Reminded me of a typical european away game. Some decent stuff first half, second was a little lacklustre, we didn't look like scoring but we didn't give in and got the goal. Overall deserved the win but still not clicking in the final third. Anyway I'll sleep easy tonight

you just hope the prospect of facing all the top teams in the next few weeks gets them going enough to start performing, 'cause if they do what they did tonight they'll get stuffed against 'Pool and Arsenal in particular, doubt they'd do Spurs either

Tough shit ahead, Arsenal FA Cup, Spurs at home and Pool away, then Villa as the "easier" one and City at home. I feel this level of performance wont be enough. All of those teams (except Villa) have much more competent players in the counter than Newcastle, so this cock ups we've seen tonight from di Maria, Herrera and some others will be punished.
I think Louie will tighten the defence a bit more and pack the midfield, he may even choose not to go with so much insistence on possession and to be fair, these teams wont allow it to us either. Hopefully, he has a plan C too.

Actually think 100% at home from the remaining games is needed just for the breathing space with our away form.

Good point about being allowed the possession in the first place -> good, might work in our favour.
