Wonder if we can get someone from PSG of good value in a swap deal I don't believe in official swap deals as such, but surely some unofficial swaps and arrangements do occur at times (Alonso to Bayern and Kroos to Madrid springs to mind). Can we get someone from Psg if they get Di Maria? Verratti would be top of my list, although Matuidi and Marquinhos would not be far behind depending on what profile/position we want.

Verratti would be perfect but I don't see them letting anyone go, in which case we keep Di Maria and Ed can do this (finger) PSG still whinging about FFP, their own fault for spending the whole transfer budget on David Luiz talk about stupidity. Meanwhile Gundogan is now in transfer talks..

Higuain wouldn't quite be my choice, but he is an excellent finisher and a smart player with experience. I could see why LVG would want him. But I don't see how we could accomodate him and Rooney while keeping three in the middle.

Why not?...Depay (left) and Higuain (right) with Rooney as number 10 behind with the capability to drop off if we lose it letting the other two to tighten closer for when we get it back?

Why not?...Depay (left) and Higuain (right) with Rooney as number 10 behind with the capability to drop off if we lose it letting the other two to tighten closer for when we get it back? I don't see Higuain playing from a wider position. It would be wasting his talent. Obviously he could do a job even when not played centrally, but then why buy him? As much as everyone, I expect Rooney to be our main striker next season and I am completely fine with it as long as we settle our midfield once and for all. But if LVG manages/wants to get someone like Higuain or Benzema, or Lacazette upfront, or any other quality front man, I am sorry but Rooney will have to find another position because they're better than him at that role. Basically (NB: I do not mean to restrict the players's quality, I know they're more than that): Lacazette would offer pace and power, Benzema would offer great link up play and add technique in the final third, while Higuain is an outstanding finisher with smart and accurate movements. We have been lacking all that this season. Rooney offers a bit of everything, but he doesn't master any of those role either and this was showed again this season. But the thing is: we don't know what LVG wants upfront: does he want more pace ? Does he want more link up play, more combination and technique, or does he want smart movements/runs and a sharp finisher? Or something else? Or a combination of all? I do think we're going to see one more addition to our front line if Di Maria and/or RVP leaves. But I guess no one has any idea which profile he wants.

We need a finisher up front and nobody's shoving Higuain out to the wing, more of a right-side striker because we all know Rooney's tendency to chase the ball a bit deeper which could give both others a chance to squeeze in. When he comes in late as he likes,he could well be the finisher that our possession needs? I do think that he could compliment Depay and Rooney.

from what I gather say that Schneiderlin closer to us than Arsenal. Yes, that's what it says (I speak French). It says (literally) that he is "very close to United, rather than Arsenal". That would be a great signing.

Do you know who infosports are Matt? No idea. I don't know if they're reliable or not. But I'd take it with a pinch of salt anyway, just like every rumour. I am regularly on French speaking sites, and I've never seen us linked with Schneiderlin.

Edit: Seem to be a part of Canal+ You're right, I just checked it. They do not look like spreading false rumours for the sake of it, and they have exclusive access to information related to French clubs and players for sure. I am not saying they're reliable on that one, but they're not your usual Daily Mirror, Sun, etc. who jump on every rumour.

Wait and see as usual I guess Morgan Schneiderlin is “very close” to Manchester United, according to Canal +
According to our colleagues at Canal + this evening, Southampton defensive midfielder and Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin is “very close” to a move to Manchester United this evening.
They also claim that he is closer to a move to the Manchester outfit rather than a move to Arsenal. Get French Football News is hoping to have a clearer understanding of the situation in the next 24 hours. More, therefore, undoubtedly to follow.www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2015/morgan-schneiderlin-is-very-close-to-manchester-united-according-to-canal/
