Who is the dead wood though?
Everyone who people want sold the manager loves. As I see it there’s only really Darmian who we haven’t shifted yet that wants to go, maybe Rojo/Jones but Mou handed one of them a new deal which is a bit strange if he’s considered surplus and I’ve not seen any signs of the other wanting to go or being pushed out.

Darmian (not good enough), Rojo (not good enough, liability), Jones (sick note liabilty) - Smalling if he concentrates for 95 minutes and takes his vitamins just scrapes in to an acceptable level but all of them are prone to lapses of concentration, positioning and getting caught. Bailly and Lindelof look like they have the potential to be quality but out of that whole back line there isn't anyone the quality of a Ramos.

Funny the board allegedly didn't splash out on slabhead because they said he's no better than what we have already?? Maguire is 26 looks like he's about to make the next step up and is arguably on a par with Jones / Smalling already, and is certainly better than Rojo. This is how clueless and vision-less this board really is.
With an added from Ducker here:
Manchester United reportedly balked at Leicester City's £75 million valuation of Harry Maguire this summer and failed to cut a deal for the defender, but they could have signed him last year for just £15 million.
The Telegraph's James Ducker wrote that was the figure the Red Devils were quoted by Hull City last year, but they passed up the opportunity as Leicester ultimately sealed a deal for £12 million plus £5 million in add-ons.
The £75 million Leicester were seeking for Maguire this summer would have been more than six times the sum they paid for him 12 months ago and would have matched the world-record fee for a defender.

Not much of an upgrade bar his passing/dribbling ability and Mou would probably curb that. Should have signed him last season but we weren't interested.
Anyway why the hoo ha over centre backs when we have so many. Where's the fecking attacker? Mou's obsession with Willian and Perisic should be a bigger concern.

still only 22. Natural goal scorer in the academy or even reserves level. There wasa time I thought he was going to have a great cerrer. Still early enough to get back on track but doubt he will be at United long-term.

That bloody injury did for him, poor sod. Wish him all the best and hope he thrives and comes back.

Also said he hasn’t spoke to Mourinho but knows he’s not in his plans, such a shame, he was so good at youth level but has struggled with the jump up and injuries.

We need CB's, top priority.
2 world class CB's or near world class.
My call would be Kalidou Koulibaly or Godin as well as Jose Gimminez and then sell Rojo, Lindelof and Smalling/Jones to get some money back

Surely United should keep in touch with targets to finalise with next year's manager and DoF, but wouldn't do such deal early. I d rather have Skriniar but not sure about either.
Would love to see Tuanzebe make it to our first team but think one experienced CB could still be needed.

If it's an obvious world class player that's available then you might as well do business early. Koulibaly or Skriniar fit the bill, what manager is going to refuse either over what we currently have available? That whole defence needs pruning in the Summer but dickhead has most of them signed up on stupid money contracts.
