Pretty much every paper in England has Sterling to United on its back page this morning
Would be truly, spectacularly hilarious to observe the reaction should it happen.

I'd find it hilarious if we genuinely just asked them to name a price to be honest. So fucking hard faced you can't help but smile, I'd be surprised if their response was much more than "Fuck off!"

I hope we're truly in for him even if it doesn't come off. Just to prove Woodward doesn't give a fuck. Follow up van Gaal's speech with an enquiry for Liverpool's best player, we're run by crazy bastards

I guess if he's got a strong preference then there's not a lot they could do about it. I don't think he gives a shit where he goes though by the looks of it? provided he gets game time and it's a top four option competing. I'm sure he'll be "guided" in the appropriate direction.
I'm sure Wooward has just done it for a laugh.

He was a United fan as a kid, which was obviously not that long ago, so you never know.
I'd have to stop using my joke though about how the world went to war the last time we bought a player from Liverpool, we can't risk it again.

I'd also have to take back all my comments about him being overrated.
In fairness I do still think he's overrated but that doesn't mean I don't think he has potential.

I'd fall down on the ground laughing if he even mentioned joining us. I don't think we will be going for him, but what a first-class kick in the hole for that lot if Sterling even acknowledged an interest. They can't keep him and he'd like to come here..

Same German paper that is reporting the no-go about Hummels is also reporting that we're after Schweinsteiger.
Would love to see him here, vastly experience, won the lot and his best position these days is Carrick's. Only a year left on his contract and still only 30, would be a quality short term move.

I hope the Sterling rumor is not true. He's good but not great yet and we will be paying silly money to get him here. Hopefully we have learned from our mistakes this season and spend it wisely on some proven talent on positions that we really need instead. i.e Striker, DM , RB and CB
Furthermore, why would we require another winger when we already have Depay, Young, Di Maria, Nani, Toni V and Jesse Lingard.

ian_Ladyman_DM #MUFC ready to move for Schweinsteiger and have already initiated the process. Schweinsteiger doesn't fit the age profile (he's 30) but needs must and #MUFC have decided to make an exception.

Like Marc says he's a classy player and as a short term fix it doesn't get much better. I'd have preferred him a couple of seasons ago but I'd still take him with open arms now.

Not getting my hopes up after last time, still a top player and would love him here, a leader and someone to dictate in midfield which we dearly need.
The replacements for Carrick seem to be thin on the ground, Schweiny would be a good short term solution but he's had injury issues as well.

and Alves wouldn't be bad as a backup, but i feel some team is going to offer him insane money (i.e. PSG or a club in the gulf)
