Definitely, would have preferred to see Wilson up front alongside one of Falcao/RVP though. Anyway nice to see a more favourable formation at least and as I say it's time for the 2 strikers to start showing everybody that they still have enough quality to remain here next season.

Good first half.
Crap second half.
Blind MOTM.
Jones could of cost us another goal again but big Dave stepped up once more.
Januzaj tried but he really slows down attacks and is found out by defenders. Needs a loan.
Nothing more to say, happy for the 3 points but second half spoiled the final impression of the game.

A comfortable 3 points but I thought we were poor again, all 3 goals were fortunate to a certain extent, I actually think that against a half decent defence all 3 of those goals would've been prevented today. No rhythm or speed to the attack once again, the only flashes of exciting football happened when Januzaj picked up the ball and took a man or 2 on. Unimpressed with Di Maria again although him playing in the correct position showed what he can do running from deep for the second goal. Rooney seems to be floating by with little criticism even though he's been pretty shit for a while, although he is playing out of position for me, still want him further up the pitch. Was pleased with Blind's performance and again Rojo was good although Leicester offered very little up until the last 15 minutes.
Important 3 points but Liverpool are getting better and have a goalscorer back now and he scored in his first appearance for god knows how long, they're going to be serious challengers for a top 4 place along with Arsenal and I'm no longer ignoring the potential upset of Southampton finishing in the top 4, especially when you look at the sort of performances we're putting in. I'm not half as confident about getting that top 4 spot right now as I was a few months ago.
But I'll take these limp performances every week as long as we keep winning.

when Januzaj picked up the ball and took a man or 2 on I don't remember this. When that happened? I remember him only shielding the ball pretty good but overall he was very wasteful. All of the crosses didn't find it's target and he was containing the ball for too long again.

We could and should score 6 at least. This was one of the most negative, crappy, cuntish performance I have seen in a long time from Leicester but we didn't take advantage on that. Yeah, we stepped on the ball, kept calmness and possession (mostly) but this is what this team lacks compared to many previous ones, the desire to finish off the opponent in a great style and for the pleasure of the fans who are there every week, supporting them.

He was wasteful on the whole but also put a couple of good crosses in to the near post that you'd expect strikers like Falcao and RVP to be getting closer to. He looked like he was trying to make things happen at least, he was a small positive for me. Also don't forget he's barely featured all season, he's probably severely lacking in confidence at the minute.

I'll take that, 3 points in ze bag The performance left a lot be desired, no rhythm or flow just looked very disjointed, Rooney in his usual sideways passing and the odd cross field ball, Di Maria in the no.10 in which we saw moments of brightness but on the whole not a lot, Januzaj tried his best to try and break through but his final ball was lacking. Blind the only natural midfielder of the foursome did a good job and was easily MOTM. We kept possession fairly well which is what van Gaal seems to want. The goals were worked well, they came from us forcing Leicester into mistakes again winning the ball high up the pitch is what he wants, the game was wrapped up in that 20minute spell and then it was just keep ball for the rest of the game. Leicester are bottom of the league, need to see much more from us if we want top 4. Louis has work to do.

Manchester United's Daley Blind: "We are pleased with the result. We tried to keep possession and create chances from that. We were the better team, keeping possession and scoring goals. Once you score the first goal the other team has to do something. "We played a good game with a lot of patience and ball possession. The first-half was very good, in the second-half maybe we had too much patience. But we tried to kill the game with possession and create chances from that. "We come closer every week to the way Louis van Gaal wants us to play. We are on the right track and we are happy. "Of course you want a clean sheet but 3-1 at home, we played a good game and it is a good result."
On his assist: "I heard Robin van Persie screaming and I chipped it over and he scored it nice. "The runs of the strikers are very important, without that we have less options to give the ball."
On playing in midfield: "I enjoyed today. I got some space to switch the play and pass forward. "For me it doesn't matter where I play, I can play in both positions. I prefer a little bit in midfield but if the trainer needs me to play on defence then I can do that."

You can see where he wants to go, he wants that level of possession and control against Chelsea, Madrid, Barca, et al. He wants a team that creates four attempts on goal to score three of them rather than an 'entertaining' side that wastes both possession and chances. Clinical rather than what we're used to at United, 'entertaining'. The man is an utter micro managing control freak

I don't see anything wrong with that, he's trying to implement his philosophy and I think it worked the first half - we had 4 chances and scored 3. We could have pushed a little harder in the second, but overall you can clearly see that his idea of finishing the game off is keeping possession and passing the ball around rather than Ferguson's constant attack.

Yeah I don't mind the keeping possession but we have to be more creative when we choose to attack, the 3 goals Yesterday all had a touch of fortune and didn't require any real ingenuity, I'm convinced that against a top quality defence we wouldn't have got all 3 of those goals.
It's clear that his style of play will be more productive in Europe, think back to various encounters with Spanish opposition, even sides as mediocre as Bilbao and they absolutely passed us off the park, that won't happen should we qualify for the Champions League for next season. Also just have to look at our displays against top sides in the league, shared possession with City and Chelsea in very even games, there's also no doubt that his philosophy will make us even more formidable in the big games.
But I just want to see a bit more style and flamboyance when we attack, I'll settle for scoring 3 out of 4 chances in the half if the goals are all well worked but as I say they weren't for me Yesterday.

Well, if we didn't score in the 1st half I'm pretty sure Van Gaal would have continued pushing until we do. Lucky or not with the goals, we looked the better team and it was a comfortable win, it's a matter of making it pretty in the next games or at least keep it as comfortable as this against stronger sides.

If we didn't look the better side at home to Leicester then I'd be suicidal in fairness.

We didn't last time we played them... so there's progress. And you can see how much our defence has improved since then, so it's all work in progress

We did though, besides a 30 minute spell which was as ridiculous as anything you'll see. There is progress though, I've been saying since the start of the season there's progress, you just have to think back to how dreadful we were last season, that really puts everything into perspective.
