A serious resolution is to try and become fluent or at least be able to have a conversation in another language. French would be the easiest as I already speak it a bit but it's a bit boring. Might try Italian or be more ambitious and try a far Eastern language.

There's an app called Memrise - pretty useful when trying to learn a language. At least I found it helpful, because it has mnemonics to help you remember new words and phrases + pictures that are kinda funny. I've only tried a few so far though - upper-intermediate English, Basic Italian and Introductory Chinese to read a menu

I've only tried a few so far though - upper-intermediate English, Basic Italian and Introductory Chinese to read a menu My New Years Resolution is to stop making New Years Resolutions. I never keep them and well, to be honest they are made in an alchohol induced state. Jie, please " it has " Mnemonics " , as all us Doctor Who fanatics know the M-Noms were wiped out in the Inter-Galactic wars. " Words and Pictures " so has the Kama Sutra and by the way the position on page 42 is printed upside down ! That is why I now walk with a Limp !!!! " Words " like aaaargggh or uhuhuhuh or I'm Arriving ? " To read a Chinese Menu " ................. you just select a Number for crying out loud and say " hold off on the Rice " " Upper Intermediate English " ........ This only means say Great not GR8, and call your Ma Mom or Mother ( Mum if you are from Birmingham ) No offence meant to anyone, especially to my second best Lady in the world ( after my Wife ) Jie. PS: Isn't Memrise what happens on certain lucky mornings ! Again sorry but if you get it you cannot be offended. ????

I have... in 3 dfferent languages, none of them "Chinese". By the way the population of China is approximately 1.38 billion not 4.
I'm not quite sure what Chinese restaurants have to do with anything.
Happy New Year!
