Our first match of 2015!!!!!
Stoke are notoriously difficult to beat at their ground, but I'm confident we will get the new calendar year of to a good start. Come on United!!!!

I hope we will have some players back, if Di Maria isn't back, I hope we have someone like Tony V in midfield to add some strength in midfield and a bit of pace. Rafael didn't look that match fit yesterday I hope he is a lot better on Wednesday. I think we can win the match if we play the way we did against spurs but they won't give is that much space.

Herrera may well be back, in which case I'd drop Falcao and push Roo up. Rafa and Shaw perhaps to start as well as we could do with a little freshening.
Confident of a win though.

This is the formation that I'm dying to see. It's almost pornographic. Any word on when Di Maria is back?

Don't expect Herrera to be back in the starting lineup in this game, also expect Di Maria to still be out. Hopefully we'll see Rafa and Shaw starting as part of a back 4 though.
De Gea Rafa Jones Smalling Shaw Carrick Valencia Rooney Mata Falcao RVP

Tough leaving Young out due to his recent form but he can't feature in my favoured formation.

yep I agree Jamie and I don't think di maria will be back any time soon. Maybe by the time we play Southampton and the team u put up Jamie is the exact one I would have as well going to stoke. No place for Evans because we need consistent players and players good in the air which is what Jones and Smalling are respectively. This is a game were we need Fellaini but I have a feeling we will win it playing good football not being bullied like Arsenal.

Herrera and Januzaj have returned to training, doesn't sound like they'll play though.

Lineup for the game:
De Gea, Evans, Smalling, Jones, Carrick, Rooney, Young, Mata, Shaw, Van Persie, Falcao.
Good to see Luke Shaw get a chance in the starting line up, let's hope he takes it. I'm presuming that LVG is reverting to a back four, with either Smalling or Jones at right-back (probably Smalling), with Young and Mata out wide, Carrick in CDM, Rooney in the hole and obviously RVP and Falcao up front again. I could be wrong, but it seems to be this way.

It's finished 1-1.... it was never going to be easy but the performance was still left to be desired in some aspects. In the second half, we could barely penetrate their ultra-organised defence, and they could (arguably should) have had a penalty and could easily have won this game.
Our away form has not been great at all...

Was really surprised by the Falcao decision. He was playing well

Another inept, boring, toothless, negative performance from us. Getting really tired of VG and his negative style. What's the point of having WC forwards if all they are being used for are cart horses? Playing 2 of our most dodgy defenders in Evans and Jones in a back 3? Once again no midfield to control the game. No play through the middle with most of it going through the wings with no end product. Once again VG thinking he's a tactical genius by putting Januzaj as left wing back when the only choice to be made was to put Young there and bring on Rafael. The list goes on but I'm getting tired of repeating myself. Just waiting now for VG in his interview giving the blame to his players. Prick.
