That news is simultaneously surprising and totally expected. Why is that Monty. I thought he did a brilliant job in keeping them up. It's surprising because he did a great job last season, and deserves a lot of credit. It's expected because Pearson is a notoriously volatile bellend and his son was just sacked by the club after being caught up in a scandal.

Ranieri got the Leicester job. as good as Ranieri is, this seems like a recipe for disaster, by all accounts the players loved pearson and seem like they'd be loyal to them, Ranieri isn't the most patient manager or the one who will be the most understanding over the players plight, i guess it comes to the players to just remain professional in terms of football though, he's a great manager, they couldn't have done much better

Pellegrini up for 2 more years -
7 Aug 2015 11:09:00
The Chilean coach has penned a deal which keeps him tied to the club for a further two years despite missing out on last season's Premier League title Manuel Pellegrini has signed a new contract at Manchester City, tying him to the club until 2017.
The Chilean coach joined City from Malaga in 2013 and has led them to glory in the Premier League and League Cup, though his side missed out on last season's title to Chelsea.
City have been said to be exploring other options this summer and have been heavily linked to Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola, however, on the eve of the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign, they have confirmed that the coach will remain at the Etihad Stadium until June 2017.
"I am proud to manage Manchester City and am therefore very pleased to have agreed this contract," Pellegrini told the club's official website after committing his future to the club.
"I have a very good quality group of players and a great team of people to work with on and off the field and at all levels of the club.
"I am focussed on the coming season and confident that my team and I will respond to the constant support shown to us by everyone including of course our fantastic fans."
The club's chief executive, Ferran Soriano, was full of praise for the ex-Real Madrid boss.
"We are delighted to reach this agreement with Manuel Pellegrini who has already contributed so much to the development of Manchester City in his first two years with us and we look forward to further progress in the seasons ahead," he added.
"This agreement allows Manuel to focus on the challenge of guiding a team capable of both fighting for domestic titles and competing for European honours."

Ancelotti rejected the chance to become United's manager for Liverpool? Wise decision indeed. :-/

Carlo Ancelotti and Liverpool
he'll probably laugh at them
If it isn't an offer from one of the top 4 i think he takes a job overseas, or even a national team job
